It doesn't work
had my bike there for the last week.
After just a few bids and 23 people watching, I still have it
Why do people watch if they have no interest in bidding...........
Just want my bike to go to a new home, so I can bring a new bike to my home.
I thought theses LAMS bikes were supposed to be worth there weight etc.....
Sorry frustrated about selling, maybe I'll put a sign on it on the side of the road somewhere.
Pay the excess and move on.
Wrong time of year mate !!
Great time for buying cos the summer riders are offloading because they dont want to ride in the cold and rain (Diddums,
)
So unfortunately maybe too many bikes around, and of course not too many people have the disposable Sheckles to splurge at the moment ?!

Thats the thing though there are not that many bikes around.
Mine was the only LAMS 620 on ebay and just one of six Nation Wide on Bikesales/Point.

Cars and bikes are very easy to sell, I burn through them like crazy and have never had an issue selling (7 bikes in 2yrs of riding and 11 cars in 9yrs - yes i'm a sucker for fast things!).
The most common issue I find is sellers not pricing appropriately. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay which most of the time is less than you think it’s worth.
If you said it hasn’t sold after 1 ½ months I would say fair enough, certain models have a small market appeal and do take longer (eg my MV Agusta F4).
If you haven’t sold after 6 months, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you have priced yourself out of the market. You may only be slightly off the mark but enough to deter buyers?
How much are you asking?

eBay reserve was $10.5
And it's on bikesales/point for $10,950
Certainly not outside any going market price.
Especially with Titanium Arrows, plus many other little goodies.
If I was asking $12k as some are for bikes that are pretty standard then I'd understand.
But I am looking for a fair price for a good bike. Not huge money as some seem to think they are still worth.
Remembering that it is a LAMS bike so most buyers will be only just getting into the market.
I do take your point SG but as I've said I think it's very well placed price wise.

put all the std stuff back on and sell the goodies on e-bay or here, little by little, that way if you have no luck selling it privately you can chop it in at the stea.....whoops, dealers without losing what you've put into it in accessories. if you get nibbles privately you can offer bits and pieces to close the sale, but not all of it, sell as much of your expensive accessories individually.

Placed well compared to other seller yes, but in terms of market placement you have one of the hardest bikes in the market to sell.
The reason why is it's the most expensive LAMS bike you can buy considering. Considering it's years old vs new bikes for less money, you really need someone hell bent on that model.
The learner market is a 'cheap bike' market as they upgrade quickly. 90% of the market wants to pay $6k or less.
Of the 10% willing to spend $10k+, i'd say 9% want brand new for the money (like i did). That leaves 1% for expensive used bikes. Of that 1%, they would have to live near you and specifically want your bike. That doesn't leave a lot of buyers left.
If you are the cheapest on offer for 6 months and it hasn't sold, the market says you are ALL to expensive. It doesn't make a difference if you are priced cheap compared to others if no one at all has sold. I think $8k would get you some interest.
The new Aprilia RS125 Lorenzo we bought my wife was $9.5k new. I planned to get $5k-$6k for it after 18 months when her licence is upgraded. Is it worth more than that? No. The used market will not pay $8k for that bike. I wouldn't, you might aswell pay $1,500 and buy brand new with warranty.
Same with my old MV Agusta F4. People were spewing at how little i got for it but what are you going to do? No one would pay the high prices for that type of bike so i dropped the price and met the market.
I agree with Loony - rip off all the accessories, any parts you can and sell privately. You will get twice as much off the bike as on.
I'm not trying to sound argumentative so i apologise if i do, i'm just trying to give a reality check.
$15k new (correct?) - 4yrs old - superseeded twice already (695 / 696 forget they are not LAMS) - it's not a $12k bike. I would be more inclined to say $8k sale after bargaining.
What you need to consider is you've wasted 6 months, you may waste another 6 months at which point the bike depreciates more as it will be 5yrs old VERSUS selling for $8k within 4 weeks of advertising and having enjoyed 11 month of riding on a new bike already. Just something to ponder
Once again, i'm not trying to sound like a pr1ck, just putting a different light on it.

You make some good points Groper. The last bike I sold was a Zook SV1000, I paid $9k 2nd hand, did about 2000k's on it in 18months (lame I know). When I decided to sell it I had it on Bikesales/point for about 3 months at $8500.00 and not a phone call. I got fed up, put it on fleabay no reserve got $7000.
At the end of the day the fella who bought it got a great bike at a great $. Sh1t me for a while as I felt like I gave it away because everyone says" Ohhh you shoulda told me, I woulda given ya 8"
. I got over it in about 2 weeks when I picked up my new bike.
I admire the people that seem to be able to sell stuff at the right time, get a great price and are happy, I however feel I get shafted everytime...
Good luck Matty, for your sake I hope you get your new ride sooner rather than later.

That's the kicker right there.
Every man and his dog says they will buy but come time to pony up the cash suddenly no one is around. It happened a lot with the MV, a LOT of dreamers with no cash. I sold it 6 weeks after listing, i was jack of it by that stage and said here's the price (cheap as chips) you want it, come get it and don't f%ck me around. The guy who bought got a bargain but most importantly he had the cash!
Mates that say 'i would have given you $8k'..... nevermind that i don't have $8k... nevermind that i don't really want to buy your bike... you should of asked me because i would of bought it.

very intelligent opinion Serious.
I find with my hunting that bikes fall into two categories: dreaming and ballpark.
In the ballpark and they get a call and a chat: if they have been flexible on top of their realistic ballpark...the bike has gone quickly!
Dreamin: they don't even get a call
however I know not everyone is like me...for example Matty is really good, he rings them up and then chats even when their offer price is ridiculous!
the difference between gone and hanging around is definitely a couple of thousand though! I've seen very similar bikes (2004 s4r black) that have varied in price and one goes very quickly verses still available today!
my first comment to anyone that I'm discussing bikes is that I have the cash in the bank account ready...that way they are assured that my offer is serious.

All good points SG and I know it is top draw LAMS bike and most people looking for a LAMS bike
only wanna spend X amount of $$$ cause they think they'll move on in 6 months or so.
In my experience many 620 owners seem to be older than a pimply faced 18 year old who wants a bike.
I understand that you have bought and sold many bikes in the past two years and have lots of experience
in doing so. I am also just over a week into selling my bike for real, so like I said I am just being impatient.
If someone came in and offered somewhere around $10k I wouldn't be adverse to that sort of offer.
Also if you looked at my bike you would have seen that it has been parted out for the last week.
Some people from here have got bits and some have been sent to the US, so the parting and price reducing from
a fully kitted machine has been done. I've made a little back from the bits that were on it, while still leaving pipes
and some other superficial parts that still look good to a new owner.
Like I said before if I was asking $12,500+ for a 4yrs old 20,000klm bike that has been updated twice I'd understand.
Thanks for your input, it is valuable as this is what a forum is about sharing your opinions with others.
Hope to meet you someday soon.

you should try selling a dog dick pink R1100S or a yellow and gray R1150R. after trying to sell both privately or thru moto I rode them into Southbank and walked away from them about $2,000 under the alleged "market" value. and i got a heap of woulda shoulda coulda calls a few weeks after i sold my sport 1100i.
i know how you feel - you're over it and want it gone. as someone who specialised in stuff no one wanted to buy my advice is to ring around dealers / second hand specialists and find someone who'll give you cash for it. that's the bottom dollar. work up from there.
i once wanted $3,000 for a car that i got offered $2,500 for first weekend. knocked it back, worked hard to get $2,300 six months later.
at least 600m are now learner legal here in vic. mine just went up in value.

Matty I hate say it but the pipes & bling add no extra value to the bike.
You also have done the tail chop which may put off some prospects.
People like a stock bike. If its got bling thats a good selling point but no extra value.
Best to maximise return by putting bike back to stock and sell all the extra stuff separately.
My Arrows cost almost 3k but if I sold them they are lucky to be worth $500.
My 2 cents!
Good luck!

Rob that's the point I am making.
Everything is off it. Pipes are just an added extra.
Most stocker's are going for $10-$12k
Mine is at $10,900 bits on just come at no extra cost.
If I took off the Arrows from Nick's bike I'd still ask pretty much the same.
I am flexible on price but not prepared after one week to bend over a barrel just yet.
