yes break it in afterall he wants to be able to use the "FULL" rpm range when he gets home.
also that is strange that ducati put on the old exaust ruoutnig system on it, i personally like the new one as it looks a lot cleaner in a way with it tucked up next to the tank, maybe not the best for your legs but nicer asethetically teh entier bottom of the bike looks sleeker.
but those termi cans in all black and the heat shields are a vast improvement over the stock ones. nice looking bike. damn those new 1100 are growing on me.

Definitely break it in before he gets back!
So... I just picked up my M1100 in black. I have almost exactly the same mods!!!
(Will post picks this weekend)
Now, I'm guessing based on what I can see from the license place surround... but do you live in Portland OR and got the bike from MotoCorsa. If so... we should go for ride
Dave
Lets see those pics brother.

the rearsets is a tough one. in my case the rear swingarm is more grey than black so a black PC would look real wierd. not if i took the swingarm and rearsets and PC'd them... hmmm but that's alot of work and time from riding.
the headlight is a must though.

i've got to disagree with you on that one. the best looking bikes on here all have the rearsets powder coated. without them powdercoated the BIG SILVER rearsets stick out like a big sore thumb! and trashy is a poor word to describe it anyway...

yeah, i gues trashy wasn't a good choice, its just there is a lot of silver on the bike, including the engine, so when some guys PC everything black, its a little blah to me. Now yours MrPlease, with the white, i think that looks, so who knows, the silver may look good too. Dark on Dark on Dark to me looks a little weird. Too Batman ish. Thats one reason im torn on the headlight, i like the balance of silver.
To each his own, but yeah, sorry about the "trashy" comment

yeah i for sure see what you mean. i have actually seen one blacked out black 696 that was actually to black for my tastes. its like he blacked out everything including the nuts and bolts. but i actually think all the things on it was painted with a black gloss paint and it just didn't look right to me. i prefer the flat black powder coating on a 696...

Very nice. You should have that broken in yesterday.
On another note, I'm surprised there were Speedymoto belt covers available. I keep calling them about some for my 696, but they're still not done. Couple more months is what I heard last.
the 1100DS isn't a new motor and the 696 is...responsible for your delay.

wow..nice bike
Its ironic that even ducati realized how stupid their exhaust routing was on the stock exhaust from the front header and went back to the original setup
the 'over the clutch' routing of the front header is standard on all the older race bikes. more than likely, it was COST that changed the layout, not because they thought was stupid.

having the pipe over the clutch makes ground clearance much better, and oil changes easier.
As they say, if it wasn't better, the race bikes wouldn't do it..

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
