Glad you made it out relatively unharmed. Can you post pics of the damaged gear and maybe the brand / model of each.
Sure can. Give me a bit

The area that almost wore through on the jacket is only pea sized, but there is almost zero material left there. The jacket is a Vanson. This model does not come with armor, and my elbow took quite the hit. You can add armor to the jacket and I should have.
The gloves are MotoGp, and I believe that the company went under. This is crash #2 for them so I really can't complain. It is hard to tell in the pic but the hole goes the entire way through the leather.
My pants did not show any wear at all. I was wearing 5.11 tactical pants.

I wish that I could just buy the carbon fiber fairings. We have enough carbon to make them ourselves or it wouldn't be happening. Going to do a test run with fiberglass first.

Thanks for the pics. There was a time I rode around in an armor-less jacket and shorts (total squid apparel). Those days are long gone. Only took a high side to convince me otherwise.

Damn, Slag, that totally sucks! Very glad to hear you're relatively unscatched. Thanks for including pics of your gear - I've always wondered if the seemingly outrageous cost of "good" gear is worth it... A picture is worth a thousand words
I'd love to know how your carbon fiber fairing turn out; done quite a bit of work lilke that on race cars (building fenders, hoods, diffusers air dams/splitters, misc. custom parts, etc., etc.) You might be able to make something kind of different and sell it. Could be a really fun project

I have worked with composites before, but never carbon. We used to make kayaks out of kevlar and fiberglass. I am actually working on a business idea that involves composites, but is not motorsport related. That would be a dream for me, but the market is already saturated and the economy won't support another fairing maker.
This has been a goal that I have had for a long time and the pieces are just now coming together. I am working on the design right now and may have a prototype soon.

Slag, I bet you can get that Vanson fixed, maybe patch it from the inside. Call Audrey at ML for a reference, she used to know somebody that would fix racing leathers and did good work. And next time put some freakin armor in there!!

I like riding mine in shorts, flip flops and t-shirt. Glad it's getting warm enough for the proper Busa gear.
