ha, I got the blue-vision side indicator globes as a gift too. they are of course for the indicator lamps on cars, they are colour matched to the blueish tinge of certain HID fronts globes - not the most useful thing to me.

I gave mine to a kid at work - Subaru, lowered, HID undercar lights, he looked at me with pure joy (put on your best wog accent now):

"Maaaaate, they are AAAAAAwwwwwsome, they will match my lighting system!"

if anyone is looking for a non-hid way of increasing light performance, I can recommend the Philips X-treme power globes, same 60w globe as standard but the performance is incredible.

Keep in mind too that the stock globes degenerate - I've seen a chart indicating the a 2 year old globe has probably lost 20% if it's peak light output when new. If your lights are marginal, it might just be the globe's getting old.

I recently replaced my ~5 or 6 year old ordinary 60/55W H4 globe with a Hella "Plus 50" globe, and I don't know how much is the advantage of the "plus 50" and how much it's just that my old globe was "tired", but the light is now _heaps_ better.

Only cost ~$34 for a pair at the local Auto One too... Anyone who wants to try it is welcome to my spare globe...

ha! you could be right there Iain, as per usual, because my machine is 2nd hand it's hard to tell what condition various parts are. Had 20k on the clock, and all the soft bits where in good state, kept under cover...but the battery was gone - so perhaps the globe was on it's last.

Having said that - I can clearly see the difference (and so can the wife) between my front light and other motorcycles when approaching home!

Hey Dock,

Sorry for the late reply been busy since Friday.
I got the globe from Monster Parts >this one<

I actually think it is pointing a little high (the headlight) noticed when we were sitting at the intersection  coming off the M5.
Thought my light was pointing at the signs instead of the roadway. Must adjust it, but yes it is heaps better than the standard glode.
And it cost all of $10 US, pretty happy.
Still couldn't see squat through my dark visor thought even with a brighter globe.

Hey Big T, are you getting two globes?
If so do you want both or want to part with the other?
I'm happy to take the other one off your hands and share the postage cost.

Let me know.

go back to the start of the thread - I've posted the site link somewhere - and then use the code I posted on this page for 10% discount. You'll get a pair of globes - one for the Monster & one for the D16

The colour of the light, clarity and brightness and how much more is illuminated is so much better than a standard globe.
Make sure you go for a ride at night, then install the new globe and do the same little route. You'll be impressed.
I used this place in the UK - they were incredible, get a notification of shipment within 10 minutes of the order confirmation, free shipping and it arrived in a week. I normally find the English to be completely ineffectual when it comes to the whole global market - but this company was amazing.
