82 dodge diplomat. Mine was hit by a snowplow in the driver's front quarter panel. It was power everything, and when it stalled for absolutely no reason we could figure out, all power went out. I learned how to pull myself down on a brake pedal with that thing.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

I had one of these (in this exact color scheme), except mine was a 1987 model powered by the 205hp 305ci V8 with a 5-speed manual:

That car had lots of stories to tell by the time I was done with it.   [laugh]

Wanted a VW Cabriolet in high school.

First car: A hand -me-down 1966 VW beetle that my dad bought new in '66. He paid $1700 for it new. 6-volt electrical, AM radio, anemic heater, and the optional passenger side mirror. By the time I got my license(1979), the running boards had rusted off, and the speedo had quit at 126,000 miles a few years back. That little beast would not die. Snow, mud bogging, I could not kill it. And my father would not let me have another car until that one died.
Finally got rid of it when I turned 18.
Funny, I kinda miss it now . . .

But I always took the position that I should have all of my toys young, while I could enjoy them. I always laughed when I saw a gran'pa driving a Corvette or 911, traveling 5 miles under the limit.
After the bug;
1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2
1969 Fiat Spider
1977 Corvette
1984 Maserati Biturbo
1980 Porsche 911 SC
1976 Fiat Spider
1980 Fiat Spider
And so on.

My dream car at the time: Porsche 928 s4. Of course, that would have been in my wildest dreams. Would still love to own one.

For the past few days I've been fixing an 88 928 s4. It had electrical and vacuum gremlins. This car has 14,000 miles and needs at least another 10 grand worth of work to fix all the other problems including replacing the original timing belts.  928s are great cars when they aren't broken, but they usually are.
