Man, I really like the look of the plain aluminum rims.  like the mag wheels on my old camaro.

I have the auto version...got 'em from AutoZone.  They'll also let you rent them.

When putting spring back on, I wrapped a piece of tygon tubing (split open) around the spring to protect the new powdercoat.

BTW, all that shit hanging from the ceiling above the bike looks like an accident waiting to happen.   :o

What are you planning on doing to your wheels ?
I always wanted to see a blacked out bike with raw "looking" wheels on it.

as long as you dont knock it, it'll be fine, stuffs been up there for atleast 2 years now. :p

Proteal, im PCing them gold. raw would just be nasty looking ( in a good way), but it would take way to much time and effort to shine them up since this is a really rough finish. plus id need to clear it.

well.... i powdecoated my swing arm and wheel. I added pearls to the wheel but i guess 5 minutes of swirling it and shaking it wasn't enough cause half of it is rough and chunky and the other half is PERFECT. :/ i have to strip it and do it again tommorrow...its gonna be a long morning. :(

heres my swingarm.

Too bad it didn't turn out first time, but you'll get it!  [thumbsup]

Wait...those are beads of water on the swingarm, right?   At first I though they were powdercoat!  That side does look perfect!!  [beer]

Dude, GREAT JOB ON THE SWINGARM. Seriously, it looks great. I can see myself now riding the subway over to brooklyn carrying my swing arm. When does the p.c shop open?

what works works! all the weight is distributed over 4 items.... front stand, 50lb bag, car jack, nad a ladder.  ;) just in case.

now, for some pics!

this was what i was talking about, when i didnt mix the pearls properly it has half grainy half retarded i went back after i posted to restrip and re powder. i left out the pearls.

this is what i ended up with

and the front....yea im a lazy mother make the beast with two backser, call me out on it, i dont care, i aint stripping that center line, i was doing it by hand. shit SUCKED. lol i left it there, masked it when i powdered and pulled it off. also, if you look at the caved in section, i could not get the powder to stick there, i even jabed the gun in there and let it rip. not sure if my gun was too weak, or there was some strange electric field there. no biggie, im gonna hit that part with spray paint. black it out.

heres the front end, i had an EPIC fail momment, after i put the tire back on, i was ready to pop the bead out, except i had no valve. [bang] it was a PITA to install the valve with the tire on, i wish i was a bit heavier,i had to brace my back against the wall just so i can push the tire down, i only weight 150lbs. :(

( shamless mention......I love my decal!)

tomorrow is a short 2 mile run to pepboys to pick up some grease, then install the swingarm. and i need to find some new rotor bolts, i had to drill out three of them. :( also the  gold specs you see is the gold Powder that fell on my lens.

oh and umm, I went He Man style on the shock...the shock nearly took my fingers off. no go. :( Also a 1098 shock is not a good shock to put on a SSS bike. Im gonna pick up a 999 shock from Chachadder and throw that baby on. Lucky for me im only 150lbs, so the shock is almost spot on (it could be a bit stiffer...)

supakpow2

Looks awesome so far. nice job on the wheels.
can I have the drum in your picture?

there was going to be something humorous here, but, unfortunately, i was in charge of the typing, and this is all i could come up with.
