 Grin

come and get it, im not sure how it even got there. thats where i put my helmet when i open the garage door.

Does anyone know what page of the manual tells you where what grease goes where? Im going to pick up some moly grease and some regular bearing grease at pepboys in a few.

Proteal, im PCing them gold. raw would just be nasty looking ( in a good way), but it would take way to much time and effort to shine them up since this is a really rough finish. plus id need to clear it.
I am working with my powdercoat buddy to come up with a finish/process to get the "raw" look but yet have it powdercoated with a industrial clear that wont turn yellow. Helps that I work at Billet Specialties and have access to TONS of pieces that they consider "2nd's" to try out different coatings on  waytogo
I WILL have raw/brushed wheels on my bike eventually...

What kind of prep work was involved with the wheels and swingarm?

there was going to be something humorous here, but, unfortunately, i was in charge of the typing, and this is all i could come up with.

I deg-gassed mine (oven for 45min or so to burn whatever was in their outta it), then media blasted it, then scuffed it up with some light sandpaper, then degreased, then coated it. I am not saying I am a powdercoat pro in the least but I can say from seeing it 1st hand 99% of a great finished product is in the prep...

i wish i had a blaster, i used a chemical strip, 30 mins at 300 to outgas then a trip into my bucket full of Joy Dishwasher.

Though i knicked like 10 different spots trying to get this new tire on. Cry ill have to find some matching nail polish and invest on a real tire changer, because i was trying to do it with 1 tire iron. lol i did it though!

It's called the Farraday cage effect.

When you try to powder in a closed area...a corner...where the charge effects oppose each other... the powder goes the other way.

I understand that if you adjust the settings on the gun you can overcome that.

Ahh, thank you. The gun i have is non adjustable though.  I tried to position the ground at different positions closer/futher away from the spot i was trying to powdercoat, and use a less conductive support to hold the wheel up, it helped a little, but not enough to actually get it to stick. Ill give it a 3-4 days of riding before it gets disgusting, so its not that big of a deal.

Also, im gonna need to ask you guys some questions.... the sprocket carrier. what color should it be? I have a gold wheel, black swing arm, i was thinking gold carrier, with a black nut.

heres the bike in 1 piece (well close to...) With my new pilot 2ct roads! so far ive PCed..

Wheels
Rearsets
Seat Cowl
Brake lever
GP shifter
Right rear wheel nut

and tomorrow,
Sidestand
SIdestand plate
Sprocket carrier

Lookin' good!!

Why didn't you shoot your shock spring gold?

The sprocket carrier...either black with gold sprocket nuts or vice versa.   [moto]

Next week, PC your engine case covers black!   Grin
