I live in a three flat in Chicago. No garage. No parking space. No work-room.
Just an alley. :*( With gangbangers.

Double check, but parts numbers 24510471AB and 24510481AB should be black Ducati belt covers for your bike.
They come off "quite" easily by the allen keys you have bought (?).
Price is $40 + $30 for the set of two pieces, at any dealer.
Much easier and probably cheaper than painting.

I would buy some paint that states "engine paint." It's got a good tolerance to heat. Just make sure that you read the label and it includes plastic as an application for use. Try not to over spray, use nice even strokes when painting. Don't go getting high off the stuff either.

LOL... I got the Allen keys first thing when someone said so on this forum.
Bringing my bike from the shop on the 30th so spending the day in the alley installing the alarm and the few things I have already for her. Then going for a ride..... [moto]

I prefer the American Tradition barbecue paint (more of a satin black). I use it on everything I need to paint black on the bike. I get it at Lowe's...

Thanks for the tips! =D
I will check out the cost options of all. I just don't want to get busted in the alley with a can of spray paint.
Is that the same pant I can use on the cans until I can afford an exhaust?

theres mine about a year and a half ago, here they are now..... honestly if your gonna take them, off, your gonna have to put them back in anyway, the only difference is, youll spend like 30 minutes to let it dry to the touch.

I used the BBQ paint for the satin look. I like it better than the flat of the primer.
And yes, you can use the same paint on the exhaust cans. It's rated up to 1500 degrees...

How exactly do you figure that $70 worth of belt covers are cheaper than a can of spray paint??

That's nice and all, but how does that apply to the OP which lives in Chicago?
