on nova tonight!  the car guys were the guest host going around to different locations where alternative fuel options were being tinkered with.  at the MIT lab they go to check out something or another and all i can see is a siena gray monster in the background set up on a lift!!  i wonder the guys at MIT are doing to the monster  [evil]

any one else see this??

haha, pbs is on free tv (i have four pbs channels with this hd shiz);  i'll check hulu or pbs.org to see if i can dig up some evidence

Sorry, I don't have TV reception. I have an LCD TV but thats so I can plug my laptop into it. Not much of a TV watcher...

I saw the program but somehow missed the Monster.

I believe MIT was working on building more efficient gasoline engines.      

It's hard to believe that a current gasoline engine in a car yields only 1% of it's energy in moving a car !          

It's sad to hear that 1/4th of all the Earth's oil reserves have been used up in the last 10 years.     Dolph

Hilarious show but the s/o and I aren't too sure about the new season's cast?  That episode was great though with the stripper!!   [laugh]

Terry's awesome too!  He just filmed a Comedy Central standup special here in Austin about a week ago.

That segment of the show, John Haywood (the interviewee) is discussing his research into inefficiencies in engine design due to friction.  As Desmodromic engines are unique to Ducatis, I'm going to assume that he's studying the friction characteristics of desmo L-twins.

I just shot him an email to see if he'd be willing to contribute anything that our community may find interesting.
