Installed the seat and love the ergonomics of it. My only problem is the red stitching. It looks so out of place on my bike. Everything else is black then, there's this red stitching. Any way to dye it black? Perhaps take a washcloth, soak it in black dye and dab it on? How would it hold up if it got wet?

Anyway, the red has to go.

The DP touring seat for the 696 has red stitching.

I like it.  I also have red wheel stripes so it looks good.

The red stitching on the standard touring seat looks out of place. It flows MUCH better with the low seat.

I'd hate to say this, but i think a black Sharpie would work just fine. It wouldn't rub off on your pants like shoe polish or something would.

Go to the grocery store or a tailor shop and get a clothes marking pen. We use them in the military for personal markings on our uniforms...

That red stitching is the reason I didn't get the seat. Let us know what you do and how it works out. NAKID's idea sounds good.

+1 on the stitching. i have the pearl white. the monster wording is red, the stitching is red and now my pazzo adjusters. plus i wear a red, white and black helmet.  it's just the right amount of accent color IMO. ok, i know cheesy designer shit, but hey, i like it.

Are you talking about the stencil pen I used to put my name on my dungarees 14 years ago? Jesus, that's a memory I thought I had successfully repressed!

I always look at the bright side. At least my name wasn't Perez-Rodriguez. That dude was stenciling his shit for 3 days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think that's going to be my course of action.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! I was in Great Mistakes almost 15 years ago!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! I was in Great Mistakes almost 15 years ago!

I was there from July 13 1995 to September 22.

I can't seem to find that stencil pen anywhere. I went to the uniform shop here in the Pentagon (I'm a contractor now) but they use sharpies. I like how the old stencil pens flowed ink out. Sure, they were prone to explode but what fun is using something if there's no danger involved?

Any idea where I can find one?
