I just finished by belt covers.

I like them much better than the gray. Used a Dremel to cut the belt covers. I bought plastic gutter guard. Cut it to fit. Painted it and Voila! [thumbsup] I am very pleased with myself ;D

This may be an extreemly stupid question but... is there any negative aspects with stuff like dirt and junk getting in the open areas to the belts?

Before I read your post I said to myself  "wow he is good at drilling holes... that looks just like the gutter guard we have at Lowe's that never sells."
nice to see someone put it to good use :)

I was thinking about removing the belt covers completely.

Any issues I should be aware of?  Stones, debris?

I think the exposed belts compliment the open clutch nicely.

There is a risk. If a rock get in there, its totally possible for it to wreck shit up. It has happened and has caused totaled engines.

A reliable duc mechanic has said he's seen some crazy shit.

i figure that if im riding without the covers, and something gets in there and breaks it, its just Gods way of telling me i need to upgrade.  what better reason to upgrade than breaking something.  its almost always cheaper to upgrade than it is to replace it with stock factory replacements.

There is a risk, as is with everything we do. But, this is honestly the first time I have ever heard of anything like this.
