So last night as i am digging through my gear and setting stuff aside for track use, I think to myself, Self(because this is what I call myself is Self), maybe i should start wearing my dogtags again. I mean they do have pertinent information in the event of mishap...
Name, Social Security Number, Blood Type, Religious affiliation...
Then I notice my Teknic Speedstar gloves have a spot inside the gauntlet that lets me write my name and blood type. I thought this was really cool and yet somewhat disturbing...

Anyway. Just a random thought as i prepare for my first few track days after 11 years of not being on a track.

Not a bad idea. I've always wondered where the best place to put my health insurance card would be. I want to make sure there is no delay in care.

JEFF_H

might as well get a high-tech one

usb...holds all your info

Always put mine in the inside pocket of my leathers. Doubt there would be any delay in emergency care, though.

I believe Mario (Grifo) wears a wristband with all of his pertinent information.

I know there is also a company that sells something in the form of a sticker you can slap on your helmet

you can also have a dog tag made at most pet stores (yes, like what you pooch wears)
probably a bit cheaper than the ICE tags....and the EMT doesnt need to be able to read USB info

Is there a protocol in the EMS industry that trains medics to look for certain information on victims?

Drunken Monkey

Back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and I raced, leathers came with a tiny, credit-card sized pocket right up at the neck designed for a medical info card.

Maybe it's a just Vanson thing, but it always made sense to me...
I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...

Haha, I've had much more disturbing thoughts regarding riding.

All I have to do is close my eyes... and twist my wrist...

Yeah... I've depression issues sometimes.

The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

That would only be helpful if they knew the info was on the inside of your glove. When the EMT's expose you, they'll see dogtags...
