It was a pleasure to hang out with such a distinguished group of folks.  Scott, it was great to meet you.  Ed, Karl, Craig, JJ, and Pam, I'm glad I got to spend a few minutes with you.  Thanks for the Red Chile Stew, Pam!!!  The rest of you REALLY missed out.   waytogo

And here is the evidence:
Pam's first time ever on a race track applause

Scott having fun on his SS:

The other Scott...or maybe going forward known as L'Scott... dragging a knee applause

Craig having fun:

Thank you Pam for manning the camera and for providing nourishment and support for the gang.

Here's some happiness shared out of my practice day. I used the Ducati Data Analyzer available in my bike on the track and recorded few good laps. I started slow and managed to get lap times of 2' 12" (two minute 12 seconds). Through the day after lot of sliding dragging knees, dropped it to 1' 5" 300 and the best lap of 1' 4" 600! I'm not sure if it is best comparing with race times of under one minute to 52" 9 by Ray and rest of the top cream around 55" on expert 1000 class including Troy. I may be comparing apples to oranges. But, hell...I improved like crazy and I'm motivated beyond belief as I left room during practice and can do a lot better! Here's a comparison of my best lap of 1' 4" 600 and 1' 5" 300 runs through an average 1.25 miles course lap I did...Top speed shows 100mph. Cool stuff, eh? Thoughts?  waytogo

Typically, the club bestows the "expert" title upon any racer who can safely maintain sub 1:00 lap times, so you're damned near an expert racer by SMRI's definition, and without ever turning a wheel in anger.    bow down

For reference, my best lap times ever on the fabulous 26 horsepower HD/Aermacchi are just under 1:10....about 5 seconds per lap slower than your 150 horsepower 1098.   Wink  Corner speeds are higher than most of the modern bikes (simply because the bike doesn't weigh anything), but top speed is only about 80 mph and it takes FOREVER to get there....so the lap times are slow.  I read War and Peace during my last trip down the front straight on the HD.
