Just wondering... If there's anyone out there that is, or isn't going to be riding at the next track day... That has one of them there fancy schmancy "mount to the gas tank" digital video cameras..  would be willing to let me run a session or two with it stuck on my bike so I can go back and watch how I was doing..??  I could throw in some  chug or  Vino! for your efforts..  Please?
... and Thank-you!

I'm still trying to decide whether or not to ride or work a corner for this track day, Wayne.  Either way, I'm sure we could hammer something out.   waytogo

This is my exact intention!  Only downside.. I'll have to leave just after lunch to attend a wedding in Santa Fe that evening. I'll still get in a good 3-5 sessions though!!

Scott.. Just let me know which hammer I need to bring! I really do appreciate it!

Made my first trip over to the Speedway to check things out and got to watch JJ & Ratfink rip off some laps. Very impressive.

So, another awesome trackday and back in one-piece! waytogo Thanks to Wayne for great company and not sure where the rest disappeared! Thanks to Nick & Barb for coming by and motivating...& to Scott for, well telling Molly how to replace my track bike with a Mini in a PERFECT WAY Wink applause ...so I started slow, managed to do 3 intermediate sessions without anyone but one passing me, a cheeseburger and then to expert session. Good thing about expert group, they pass well when they do and usually you have the track to self and no crazy braking & unexpected lines as in Inters! First session I was too scared, had the burger moving around and had 1 minute 5 or 4 lap times wondering when a crazy rider would pass! Got comfortable in the next session doing consistent SAFE 1 minute 3 laps (5 times) and a best lap of 1 minute 2sec 300 and second best of 1 minute 2 sec 400 and third best of 1 minute 2 800! cheeky  [moto] Unfortunately, the year ends and I need to get back all skills learnt again! :'(

I did find many areas to improve, but had to play wise with my rear tire almost done, riding on sliding limits..If I had a race engineer, I would tell him/her- I need to change gear ratios, play a little suspension and mostly get me more traction (slicks Grin), so I could open throttle faster in the turn than I did because I was 200% certain I would FLY off the bike; apart from of course the fact that my beautiful degrading Tricolore can use spare fairings...All I can say to ALL is, track days are unlimited wealth of EXPERIENCE! Here's my two best 1'2"300 and 1'2"400 laps (turn #s may be understood wrong). What say you WISE folks?  Undecided

Sorry that we couldn't be out there to support you and Wayne.
Pam made me play a round of golf with her and our ex-neighbor on
Friday and Saturday who was visiting applause...and if I wasn't sore enough after that...the Taos run
on Sunday took care of that Grin

It was a great 4 sessions I road.  I stayed conservative and didn't do anything stupid.  I have some great video of JJ passing me like I'm standing still.  (I think I was about 10 seconds behind his pace per lap).  Thank-you Scott for allowing me to borrow and use your video camera.  Thank-you Nick and family for stopping by and visiting for a while, and Thank's JJ and Molly for the great trackside company during the day!  I had a swiss-army backpack full of tools, water, food, and whatever else I could think of except for one important thing: Sunscreen.  I'm a little red now.. but all told I had a great day and I'm already looking forward to the next one next year!

Sure Wayne! Anytime! Pace is one thing and passing another...Wayne is one tough mark to pass...& the 749 throttle response is similar to my bike...I was worried I would pile up on him trying...Did you have a good wedding?

Did you have a good wedding?

Wedding was great!  Got there on time, it was at the Fort Marcy Lodge/Compound.  After all of the track time then the drive up, I was ready for a nap.  But we had a lot of fun and my friend was successfully married. Even being worn out we ended up having a great time and got back home at 11:30.

I'm glad everyone had a good day at the track Saturday, and an excellent ride to Taos on Sunday.

The final race of my season ended poorly as I made an incorrect jetting decision and the bike ran so poorly I pulled in.  Those of you who saw the first race of the season know how poorly it'd have to be to get me to pull off, so I'll leave it to your imagination how bad it was.  To compound that frustration, Brian Robertson wadded badly in turn two as I was about to leave and hit his head pretty hard.  We finally talked him into a ride to the hospital (on his part mostly to look at his shoulder, but I was more interested in the CT scan as he was acting pretty funny), so I loaded him up and took him to Lovelace and sat with him whilst the Doctors poked, prodded, and finally declared him fit for duty.  Those of you who rode at the track day might recognize Brian as control rider #242 on the blue GSX-R 600.

I sure hope next season starts better than this one ended.    bang head

I also hope this BEAUTIFUL weather holds out for another week or twenty.  I'd sure like to go for a relaxing ride sometime soon.   [moto]

Sorry Scott, I can imagine how disappointing it must have been! Undecided I'm sure next season will be awesome...For one, you will have company! [moto] I'm also sorry about Brian...I did see him help us out as the control rider...We are so much on the limits there, but allowing some room helps and I'm glad I rode with my head this track day and still gained enough.

As for season, there is lot more riding left up north...so don't worry...Lets do the long day ride through Taos, Black lake, Angel fire...the coming weekend...if all is well.
