Got to swing by the track today.  No bike so no TOR but my friend was running in the auto cross in the parking lot.  It was cool to see the variety of cars there: tricked out Corvettes, a 1979 1200 cc Honda CVCC, a ratty old Chevy Berreta, a ridiculously supercharged and tricked out Miata, a 1974 260Z with an Edelbrock carb and custom manifold and header.  Gear head porn.  The last run of the day is a fun run and I got to ride along with my buddy.  Pretty fun, the car slides around a good bit.

Then we all popped into the pits and caught the last race with Mo and Ryan.  Mo took third in something and got a trophy later and C said Ryan was looking really good all day long.  Congrats to Mo on the trophy and to Ryan for finishing all his races.  Nice to see everyone and it seems the weather held out for the day.

Ryan, good job on your grass run! Way to save it and pull ahead of that guy!

It was good to see everybody and congrats on finishing well Mo.

Jess- Thanx. I had fun.

For those who didn't see the race.

First race - Nothing to note. Passed a guy, then his engine blew... or he wrecked... so I was still dead least of the finishers. Nothing special to note... except that I didn't see the grass.

Second race - I got my best start so far. The crowd ahead of me clustered in turn four of the first lap and I gained a lot on them. Passed a very, very slow bike and got to racing with # 104.  Burgess?? Anyhow, he was slow on the corners, but I couldn't figure his line to pass him. But he had a few MPH on me in the straights.... so, about lap 8, I decided to make my move... he was hampering my style  Grin  ... anyhow... I got a good drive out of four and gained enough ground to make my move on the outside of eight.... he had a habit of taking seven wide enough for me to sink under him in eight... I moved into place and got ready.... then out of no where... Dustin splits us... and I no longer have any room to turn... and into the grass... cutting the corner of eight...  I was all over the place... and wobbling.... and then I saw turn nine and the track getting to close.... I leaned in... and made the corner... slid onto the track and saved... I didn't even lose any time or places....  I accelerated on to the track... and made it!!!

I was a tad spooked... but I accellerated hard down the straight and all I could think about was if my tires were clean enough to make turn one and two... I leaned into two as Mark was passing me.... he showed me the outside pass on # 104 and I cut out and dipped to the inside of three for the pass...  it was awesome... the Mo passed me on the outside of four.... my best racing so far... the last lap ended up being my fastest once I passed # 104.... 1:24 flat... my best lap all year... I know it isn't great... but it was awesome for me... my grass lap was my slowest at 1:27...  anyhow...  I finished clean... and I ended up second from last... # 104 was last, cause the slow bike I passed early ended up sliding out on four.

I have a lot of thanks to # 104... he got me to up my game and he gave me somebody to race. Another race like this one... and perhaps I will not get lapped.  waytogo

Thanks to all who came out to watch. I appreciate all the support.
