Life is Good

« on: May 03, 2009, 11:39:49 AM »

Here is how the bike started.

Since then, I have / put on...

CRG BS mirrors
removed the bikini fairing
cored the exhaust - single baffle (thanks Ryanracer)
Silverstar bulbs in (I can see much better with these)
removed spacer on front blinkers
non-mirror mount brake lever clamp brackets
Ducati tailchop
PC'd rearsets
PC'd brake/gear selector arms
PC'd pegs and mounting hardware
PC'd exhaust covers, hangers and hardware
PC'd handlebar & risers
PC'd top clamp of fork and a bunch of bolt heads
PC'd headlight housing
flat black vinyl on fork legs

I have less than $500 into it as well.
*(PC'd = powder coating)
I only gave my bike a quick wash, but looks better than it did after my rain storm ride last night.

Whole bike pic.

fork and headlight pic.

Shows how well the flat black powder coating matches

Handlebar... I'm very happy with how the black plastic and brake levers match the powder coated parts.

Future....
plan to paint "Brembo" on the brake calipers red, maybe doing the whole caliper black w/red writing, "ducati" on the clutch cover flat black
Looking at options for the "ducati Monster" on the gas tank.  I'm thinking of doing "ducati" in black with red outline and leaving monster in silver
touring or low seat (red stitching)
This summer I will take some good photos in the mountains and with some interesting light/shadows.

So I'm going back to playing pinball... That high score has been on there way too long... I need to demolish my old record.   Cool

for the brake calipers, why don't you look at painting them black, but leaving the brembo silver.

and maybe ceramic black for the exhaust pipes.

the darks are so cool.

are you in cali? do you need the charcoal canister? why dont you lose it? or have you not picked up the euro shroud cover from motowheels yet.

charcoal canister is gone... not when the dealer removed it, but at some point they did.  Colorado.  Like the idea of black caliper/silver letters thanks.

THanks to all for the compliments.

I like that.  Thanks Raux.

Yeah I forgot to mention I have less than $500, and will still be after I order that left cover.  It will make it look cleaner.
