It was not a difficult decision: We had planned to drive north last week, but checked the weather. So while temps are in the 80's here, we had nearly 30" of snow in our little part of NY.

As I have said before, we welcome company here. We will probably be here for several months next year, sp think about it.

Any tracks near you?!?  Dolph

Daytona ia about 4-5 hrs away.

Anyway... It's March 7 & it's snowing here in NY.

I have to revise my plans to ride my '01 Monster from here on Long Island down to ABQ. I am just starting a big project which will probably run into May. My original plan was to leave the last week in April. It looks like I will be pushing the trip back a month.

I miss you guys and can't believe it will be 7 months between visits.

March 15 and it's in the 30's here. I am sick of this! And, riding is creeping into my brain.

I have decided that it will be a few months before I can get enough time to ride south. I'm thinking July would be realistic on many levels.
There's work, and there's the matter of getting the bike and my body into road shape. As i get closer to actually departing, I'll share my plans. I might entice some of you to meet a few days out from ABQ.

Some of you have asked about a blog I write: It's 1hundredsixty8.com ; I write mostly about public policy, but I try not to take a political point of view. I hesitate to mention it here because of that. That said, I do post about other things and intend to use the blog as a journal on my road trip.

Looks like Spring's finally got here. Took long enough.

I am missing Albuquerque and will not be making the trip out with Barb next week because of work. So, I'm thinking I have several compelling reasons to be there in June for a week or so.

One is that I would like to see the Tedeschi Trucks Band at Sandia Casino on June 14. If anyone's interested, please let me know.

It's also our favorite granddaughter's birthday around then.

There was something else going on in June in Albuquerque, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

I'm also getting the feeling that this my personal posting item.

For those who don't know, I got married on Friday. Already back home and headed back to work tomorrow, unfortunately. They don't like to give me very much leave even for my own wedding.  Angry
