Right??       Well, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the SoCO DOGs, but they are harder to roust for these type deals (with the exception of a few diehards - you know who you are!).  I should check the RMH board to see what you are up to more often.  Lance is always saying we need to crash some of your parties.

Alert. Barbara and I arrive in ABQ Dec 12 for a 3-week stay. Getting out of NY just in time, as it was 22 degrees here this morning. Looking forward to seeing you guys and hopefully cooking with some of you.

Also looking forward to the arrival of eBay-purchased saddlebags for the '97 M900. Since the bike is my mule and I run all sorts of shopping errands with it, the storage space will be a good addition. I believe they are easily removed, too, so I won't always be riding around on what looks like some sorry, Euro-style bagger.

Yes, it's cold here.... At night. It almost seemed balmy when we walked out of the Sunport terminal yesterday about 2:00. The big difference between here and our other home in NY is the moisture: When it's 30 degrees and damp and the wind is blowing, it cuts right through you. Plus, if it's 22 at sunrise, it might get to 30 in mid-afternoon.

I did check that, after storms Monday and Tuesday, the remainder of this week will have highs in the 50's, which is OK for riding.

Not wanting to start a new thread: Anyone know anything about a shop called Moto Authority? The owner is Steve, a former PJ's employee.

I met some guy named Todd who was selling an Alpinestars jacket on Craigslist. Nice jacket, but the size 46 didn't come close to fitting my 44. Had a beer with the guy and he told me about Moto Authority. I think he said the wrenching is done by Z, also a former PJer.

Yup, been going and visiting for about a year now.  I really enjoy introducing my money to Steve's register...

I've been stopping by and visiting Steve's place since he opened.  He is doing really well and there's always something going on with him.  He hosts Saturday bike night at his shop in the summer and there is usually a really good turnout.  JB and I stop in every chance we get (which is not often).  We both bought Speed and Strength textile jackets and we like them a lot, and he had an Arai closeout sale where we got her a new lid for a ridiculously low price.

He's having a little shindig at his shop on Saturday from 12-4, and he has mentioned he would like to see some of the Duc crew show up.  I'm just sayin'......

Steve is good people, Nic , so feel at ease doing business at Moto Authority.  Steve takes care of business and I've never even heard a whiff of him screwing or trying to screw anyone....in the "shady business" kinda sense of the word, anyway.    Now the warmth between Steve and Keith is another matter, entirely.  

 

As to the Alpinestars jacket, remember that Alpinestars and several other brands of riding apparel are made in Europe (Alpinestars is actually made in Italy) or Japan and are sized on the European model rather than the American one.  A European 46 is a US 36, which would make it a little small on your frame.

Re: The Jacket. I did ask the seller if the 46 was a US or European size and he confirmed US. When I got to the bar to meet him ("Spectators"), I looked at the label and it said USA 46. I am guessing that it was no larger than a 40. Oh, well... The jacket was in great shape.

Maybe you could explain that to me.   I go see him probably more than anyone here.  If he wants to sell things @ cost + 10...I'm in...as long as it isn't my inventory.
