I think my biggest hurdle at this point isn't so much that I want to change careers, its WHAT career to change to!  I'm all for going back and getting a degree, be it business, engineering, architecture, etc..  (most certainly not English grammar in typing or writing..)  I think if I can figure out what direction I want to take myself in, That will be the biggest hurdle I have to jump.  (That and, figuring out how to pay for schooling AND child care at the same time)  Thank's to everyone who's had some input so far!  I want to make the change, just have to figure out the end result first! (or, at least a general direction to head in)

Thoughts:
1- if you can, change jobs. Doesn't matter what the new job is (assuming the compensation is adequate) and you will begin to get some idea of what you might like or dislike. You might even take a part-time job to see what you discover about other fields.
2- what are your personal interests? Any of them- besides wrenching- present the possibility of earning a living?

Going to school unless you have a clear goal is a waste of time and money.

Accumulate general skills- computer use, for instance. Knowledge and information are power.

I fully agree with this.  I, like many others really dont have any money to waste. Gotta make the dollars I have count when I spend them!

I can fix computers.  I have many duct tape and large hammer skills.   ;D

Some of you know her, Some don't..  But My wife Keri is going in for surgery tomorrow to have her gall bladder removed.  Its inflamed, Full of stones and giving her the sensation someone is stabbing a butcher knife into her sternum from the backside.  (which subsided after 8 hours or so.. viva drug intervention)   More than anything we're scared for the baby right now due to the anesthesia.  I have all the faith in the world that both of them will do just fine.  For Keri and the babies sake, we could use all of the extra thoughts and prayers anyone could give at this point.  I'm pushing the "up for 24 hours on 30 minutes sleep, after being up for 16 hours before that" point, I'm approaching delirious and I'm going to bed. Thanks everybody!

Hang in there....!  Is there anything that we can do....?  Take a shift on watch... get groceries...?  run errands...?  or whatever...?

Appreciate the offer, I think right now we've got pretty much everything fairly well squared away.  If all goes well she should be home tonight I believe. (I hope!)
Thank you everyone for the support!  It means a lot to us!

Wayne- hope all works out and all you're dealing with tomorrow is Keri's speedy recovery.

Words to live by, and remember....from Honda:

1962 Safety Rules from Honda;

Taken from a 1962 Honda Motor Cycle Owner's Manual.
Translated by Honda for the American Motorcycle Rider

1. At the rise of the hand by Policeman, stop rapidly.
Do not pass him by or otherwise disrespect him.

2. When a passenger of the foot, hooves in sight, tootel the horn

trumpet melodiously at first. If he still obstacles your passage,

tootel him with vigor and express by word of mouth, warning Hi, Hi.

3. Beware of the wandering horse that he shall not take
fright as you pass him. Do not explode the exhaust box at him.

Go soothingly by.

4. Give big space to the festive dog that makes sport
in roadway. Avoid entanglement of dog with wheel spokes.

5. Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the
skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around
the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.
