I was on my way to work this morning on 183 going a good 70mph with the flow of traffic, when suddenly the cars in front of my lock up their brakes, I give a good amount of brake until I feel it start  to slide out, let off straighten up, hit them again start to slide to the other side, let off again straighten up almost stop then hit the car in front of me and then of course go over and f stuff up, I'm not hurt.  Clutch cover is cracked, brake lever broke in half, mirror gone, frame sliders did a pretty good job of protecting the bike or it could have been a lot worse.

This comes in a week where my wife went to the hospital with appendicitus, my jeep goes in the shop for a small fuel leak and a fan relay issue and comes out with a $1260 bill, the wife having to return to the hospital for infection in the tissue around her heart and lungs because they didn't keep here on antibiotics long enough, a blow out on the highway on the back tire of my Armada (which has 22" tires so that's another $250) on the way to the hospital  to see my wife, and now of course the motor vehicle trifecta I go down on my bike.  Needless to say this has been one of the worst weeks ever,  sorry for the rant just needed to vent.

So if anybody has a stock clutch cover they can get rid of knows of somewhere I can get a replacement cheap please let me know, thanks guys for letting me cry on your shoulders.

Hot damn man! Shocked  Sorry to hear about the woes.

Pericarditis eh? Nasty stuff, good thing is it's easily treatable.

Hope things start looking up for ya.

In an effort to get you started with repairs, I have a stock clutch cover. What brake set up do you have? The pee cup or coffin style? I may also have a spare stock brake lever laying around.  PM your address and I'll ship it over to you. I'll even take care of shipping for you.  waytogo

That sucks man, Let us know if there is anything we can do.

I may have a lever too. Let us know  what kind and we'll send it.

Joe: let  me know when you plan on shipping the stuff. We'll use my account and overnight it to him a basically no cost.

Sorry to hear about the string of misfortune that has been visited upon you and your family. This has been a strange year for it so far, but hang in there and if there is anything we can do, you know.

Sucks about the string of misfortune's!

I don't think I have any of the duc parts you need.

However!
I'm going to ship you my wife until yours gets fixed! Don't worry about the freight. Im airfreighting and covering that!

You welcome! I think.

I guess it would be the coffin set up, the brakes are stock 2005 s2r 800 hardware.

Oh man! I have a stock clutch cover for a dry clutch. What you need is one from a wet clutch, they are different.  Undecided

It's all good bro, it's the thought that counts and you are still my hero!

Anybody know where I can purchase a wet clutch cover for my bike I'm having troubles locating on the interwebs.

If the crack is not too bad, take it to a welder. Again, my bad for not inquiring your model of moto first before offering up my stocker.  Tongue

I'm coming off a string of bad months myself. I feel ya mang.   Wink   Life seems to always take a turn when you least expect it. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Just hope in the end I've had more good than bad. chug

Welder that knows aluminum........Dzrad...WTF?   Bumm-mother-effin- errrr....183....piece of crap highway..

Your clutch cover is basically an engine cover....

Hiero jump in here, but I believe 620, 695, 800ss, 800sie and s2r 800 models all use the same basic case, in other words, all the small bore wet clutch models..... just paint differences.....and buying new ain't cheap.

If it's real bad, welding from a race fab shop is a low(er) cost solution to new....do you think you can DevCon patch the crack or is it smashed to smitherines?..Once welded just paint it black....that color hides everything!!!

Do you need a stock peg mount/footpeg for the right side?  This is something I can arrange if you need that...we've also got a top clamp/handlebar setup for an s2r.....

Yeah, it's the same.

There is a guy parting out a 695 in the parts for sale section. Maybe you'll have some luck with him.

there's a company that offers machined covers for the coffin style reservoirs for relatively cheap ~20-25 iirc, I need to get the website from my home computer though, so I'll post up later tonight for you

*edit*

actually, here you go, http://www.corsair-industries.com/  it looks like it's $60 for the pair, or you can get em from monsterparts.com (same ones) for $50  waytogo
