Ran into Chantal (aka MotorPD) @ Cycle Gear today and there's an event this Saturday..........

Central Texas "S.M.A.R.T." Motorcycle Safety Fair.......10:00 a.m. - 3:00 pm.....
Tony Burger Activity Center, 3200 Jones Road, Austin, 78745

We spoke for about 20 minutes, this is her project and it could be fun  fun fun......Sounds like a lot is planned, raffles for lots of stuff from gear to riding courses with the benefits going to B.A.C.A.

After being pitched by the event "boss" and knowing Chantal, sparkly Monster pilot, one of our own and Austin's finest, I  have faith in knowing it's been planned well....food and music visuals, etc......

We can meet up @ Jo's Coffe shop (1300 S. Congress) @ 0900 and ride out there around 10:00.....Anybody in?

It is this coming Saturday, May 9th at the Tony Burger Center from 10a-3p.
Thanks Gone Ape. It was great running into you. I am hoping this event turns out to be a good one. So far, it looks like it will be. Since it's the first time we've done this, there will certainly be room for improvement but gotta' start somewhere. Here are some of the vendors and perks to date:

Media event at 10a, press release.
Dale Watson playing live at 1030 am!
Demos by rider safety org's!
Items for raffle: $100 off $200 or more tattoo work by artists at Body Adorned, $50 off $100 or more tats, 3 free piercings with purchase of jewelry unless already have existing jewelry; several motorcycle safety courses + experienced rider courses (awesome value!), jackets, gloves, helmets, ROT rally passes, $100 vouchers for tows from ASAP motorcycle services, 2 $20 gift cards and tshirts from Cycle Gear, Helmets and free scooter rentals from Scooter Revolution, and much more.
The beautiful Anita Thomas, trainer extraodinaire will be there (our model from the flyer for those of you hiding in a hole that don't know who she is).
NAPALM, BACA, Southern Metal Choppers, MotoFun, RideSMART, Body Adorned, ASAP motorcycle service, Vespa of Austin, Bastrop Motorcycle Training, and more. Contributors: Ducati Austin, Lone Star BMW/Triumph, KLBJ, Western Printing, Jerry and Colleen Bragg, MinuteMan Press, and more.

And as VTP mentioned, we have a great guy that will be speaking about his near-death experience on his Monster. He lived to tell about it and wants to help make a difference with stressing on wearing safety gear, mainly helmet.
I hope to see some if not all of you guys/gals out there.

Thanks for any support that you can give,

Chantal aka MotorPD

for anyone looking to go from Houston, I plan on making a day trip out there, leave around 8-9am and get back into houston by about 6-7pm or so, that may be a little too abbreviated, but we'll see.

I'll be on the monster

cool, my roomate, who was in a motorcycle accident on his monster is speaking at this.

teenage kid ran the light while texting on his phone... bang head

his heart stopped twice, paramedic was at a bus stop nearby when it happened, saved his life...twice.  crazy story, he should be there speaking though.

That's right VTP! He is a great guy and I am so glad that he came out of that. I am looking forward to seeing him in the morning. I have a friend that was near the scene of his accident the day of and she said that he was one lucky dude. He is a total trooper for being willing to tell his story and try to make a difference with other riders. Takes  a lot of guts.

Don't hesitate to come say hi. I will be the only tall blond female in silly tight motorpants and big boots.

Hiero, thanks for the text tonight and I cannot wait to see you! Thank you for the support and I hope it's worth your while. Definitely a stepping stone for making it even better in the future.

Before I hit the sack, I just wanna' thank all of you that showed up for my event today. It definitely was a first time event but I hope that with being given the time for more planning next year, that it grows into an annual and huge event. David (Hiero) you rock for coming from Houston to support me. I really appreciate you all and let's get that ride together soon!! Also had a nice amount to donate to B.A.C.A so thank you to those that contributed to the raffle. Stay safe.
