Man what a bunch of boneheads! I thought HD dealers were obnoxious but Duc of SOHO takes the cake. I need a shop that's close to Brooklyn. I don't have a trailer and live in a building so I don't have a place to work on my bike.

Does anyone know an alternative that is withing a few miles?

Thanks for letting me vent

Funny you say that, i visited the store as a tourist earlier in the year and found the same thing.
There was one salesman who had a nice chat with me but the rest of the people on the floor were
more interested in the what's what with their mates.

I had an arm full of gear to buy and had zero "can I help you" from anyone there.

Hey sorry to hear, I have a philosophy about wannabe New Yorker's. See those of us born and raised in this city happen to be nice and down to earth. Venture into Brooklyn, Bronx, SI and Queens and you'll meet a bunch of nice people.

You see my friend some of those obnoxious A-holes calling themselves New Yorker's are transplants that feel the need to fit in and put an fake facade in order to keep up with the other A-holes. I've seen them come and go and are the typical group of 4 or 6 roommates living in a one bedroom apartment just to say they live in NYC.

Next time you're in town head over to Brooklyn or any other borough for some good food and nice folks.

+1 to that bro!

They're the ones that give us NY'ers a bad rep.

Listen to GL.  If your looking for service Gold Coast in New Hyde park isn't to far a ride.  I use Dave at Chronic Motorsports in Deer Park.  They know there shit and have a lot of ex-Ducati Mechanics working there.  They also give me ride home because they live in the same town as me, so that says there nice people.

Opinions of various shops always tends to fluctuate. I'm pretty good friends with most of the guys in at Duc NY and while they're not perfect & do need to change a couple of things, that doesn't mean they're bad people. They've just got a new GM in the store, the market is crappy & like any other small business they're under pressure with the economy the way it is. That doesn't mean that customer service should go out the window of course. I've seen several complaints about Duc NY that were actually just a one sided story from someone with totally unrealistic expectations. Not all or even the majority of complaints fall into this category but some (and usually the loudest complaints) do.

If you don't want to go to Duc NY, I'd personally be taking my bike to ECS (and do because it's way closer to where I keep my bike, like 50 miles rather than 100). They're not a certified Duc shop but they're excellent & very good people. They're having an open house this Sunday, check it out.

+1 to Evilsteve,  I also live in brookyn and unless your on the edge of the city limits in queens, ECS is only a bit further away and they are MUCH better than Gold Coast, mainly because they are a privately own tech shop and do not sell motorcycles. Its a garage and if youre bike needs small work you can call it in, schedule a time to bring it in nice and early and be out by the end of the day. I went in for a valve adjustment and instead came out with a resprung and revalved forks.

GREAT GUYS! plus Rt 17 is a better ride that cross island/belt or watever way you are taking.

Theres also one particular guy at duc soho i really hate.... he talks his bike up (M1100) so much its not even funny, claiming its an agressive sport bike and theres no such thing as nut crushing because if you have that issue, youre to girly to ride the bike cause your theighs arent strong enough to grab the gas tank.....
