what i don't understand is why these are so much? i was looking at other rearsets for ducati monsters and they are around $515-$600. where are these so much more? because they are new?
+1 I'd be in the group buy if it was closer to $600 then $700.

desmo: on a side note, i was looking on your site at the rizoma Sport Universal Handlebar 22mm. are these a direct fit on the 696? i mean will these basically have the same position as the stock bars? and will it fit within the air vents on the tank when fully turned? also what is the length compared to the stock bars?

Do these Rizoma rear sets come with folding foot-pegs as shown in the first pic or is that an option at additional expense?

If there's a group buy...I may be down for it depending on the final price.

Not sure about the 696, but my S2R rearsets came with standard, NON-folding footpegs. Folding pegs are an additional expense.

The bars are 730mm wide and 73mm tall. I was assured today by my distributor that they will bolt on no problem to the 696 and not have clearance issues if installed within a certain range. They are slightly taller and slightly more drawn back than stock. I'm not sure if the width is different - I don't have a 696 here while I type this so I can't check. I can look tomorrow at the shop though.

Anyone have experience installing these rearsets? Easy install? $800 is a lot, but they look beautiful Also, anyone know what mirrors are those mounted in the pics from the first post?

As far as I know none of them have been released yet, so I doubt anyone has any experience on the 696. Rizoma's other rear sets are very easy to install. They really take the time to develop a proper product! I'm thinking the mirror is the Elisse, but am not 100% on that: http://www.rizoma.com/Prodotti/ProdottiUniversal.cfm?ID_categoria=1&IDSez=1

I guess when they offer the only alternative, the price can be whatever they want it to be. Still, the product is visually and operationally beautiful. If I'm good, Santa may leave these for me this year to add next spring.

do you have pics of your rear sets? I have a S2R as well~ love my rizomas on my S2R800. top notch quality just like all their other products. the price wasn't bad for me either, around $525 bucks.
