Curious, what do you do?

I drove out to the new raceway park here in Oregon yesterday and took the scenic, twisty route. As I don't have the ability to ride a bike at the moment, I was wistfully watching other bikers enjoy the 80 degree day we had. I found myself waving to them in the same way I do when on the bike and none of them (understandably) reciprocated.

My question is, do you still acknowledge bikers when in your car?

(unrelated shameless plug, check out my new photo blog: http://fearlessfhoto.blogspot.com/  there's pics of the weekend there)

I have a bad habit of accelerating to catch up when a bike splits lanes and passes me in my car. I've almost hit the car in front of me several times.  [bang]

Not only do I catch myself waving, I have also been known to drive my car with two hands high up in the steering wheel twisting while accelerating and leaning when I go around corners.

I'm almost certain I look like a complete moron from the outside.

My friend and I have also toyed with the idea of driving around with our helmets on and, if stopped, saying that we're on a rally and we're looking for the next way point.

Got the wave and a [thumbsup] from cagers a couple times today.

I often wave as well when I'm in the car.

I've done it, but mostly they just give me the big eye.

I've had cagers wave, and I'd wave back... once this truck passed me going the other way, they honked the horn and both people in the cab threw shakas out the windows as I passed, so that was pretty cool

Was riding down the freeway a couple weeks ago when I came up behind a SUV with a "Ducati" sticker in the back window... I paused next to him just long enough for a wave and an acknowledgement, then went on my way. That's the closest I've come.

Down here in Al., most folks acknowledge each other (on two lane roads) in any vehicle. When your hands are on the steering wheel you just raise a couple of fingers. "Good morning, good day, how ya doin etc."   [thumbsup]
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Mother

same here on the residential roads

the closer you get to the city though the more it gets unfriendly

CairnsDuc

I sometimes get a wave from riders when I'm in the car, I have a small Ducati logo on the rear of the car and under the indicators on each side of the car, so, at least they know while I may be in the cage, I'd prefer to be on the Bike.

Outside the city , yes.  In the city, not so much.   Dolph       :)

Here in boston, we generally only raise one finger.
