OK...went to DIMBY.....had a make the beast with two backsing blast by the way (you guys rock)...while i was there i met a guy that had a black S4RS with cut down Termis and a nice tidy tail chop with the plate mounted under the seat in front of the rear wheel. What i am trying to find is pics of the damn thing if there are any on then forum.

I have the Termis for the S2R and I'm wondering what the sound is like when chopped as such. I'd love to chop them down because I believe they are way too long with a tail chop, but I don't want to open up a can of worms when it comes to the fueling and I also don't want to change the sound much. Anyone know first hand if a fueling adjustment is required when chopping carbon Termis and if the sound changes undesirably?

couldn't tell you about the fueling...but they sounded schweet (IMO)

I didnt feel the bike ran very different with the chop but I went and got a pcIII and a custom map just to be safe... the sound from the pipes are just as good as it did before the chop if not a little bit louder I'll try to post up a pic from the rear but basically, just dremelled a couple holes on the angled portion of the bottom of the tail plastic and then bolted the plate on with a couple longer bolts and nuts.. I'll see if I can take a couple pictures for quick a how-to

So i got a couple pics together so you can get an idea--very basic really. First, remove the underseat plastic thing and then dremel holes in the vicinity of the red circles.. You have to make sure the hole on the left is partly on the angled portion so the plate sits correclty.. I put bolts through the top holes of the license plate and used nuts as spacers.. two for the left side, one for the right since the underseat plastic isnt level.. install the plate back on.. here is a picture from the side that shows the angle at which the plate should be on there.. then put everything back up.. and it should look something like this Not much but hopefully it was helpful.

Does Mr. like this? It looks great but I would be concerned about the actual visibility. I know other people have used this location without trouble but it seems like you walk a fine line.

In CA, the cops could jam him up for not having a license plate light, and for not having a reflector. The reflector isn't that big of a deal, but the lack of a light might bring a little unwanted attention, and if the cop is a tool, he/she might turn their attention to all the other stuff that isn't quite legal (i.e. exhaust).

I had my plate tucked under just like the above and I had a light on the thing. Ran it that way for over a year here in Phoenix and even got pulled over with it on and the cop didn't say anything about it. Earlier this month I did get a ticket for the plate location though (by a moto cop) and had to go to court to prove I fixed it.
