Is it ok to do a track day without attending the California Superbike School? I was there yesterday watching the ride day. I wouldn't have a problem riding in the slow group, there were a couple of shockers riding with 1 really dodgy rider causing another rider to go off the track at turn 1. How the rider managed to control the death wobbles in the sand and not hit the tire wall was a bloody top effort. So i gather it's acceptable for anyone to ride regardless of ability? A bit of carnage yesterday to. 2 Ducati's banged up, a new 09 R1 getting into the sand pit aswell. The 2 Desmo's looked good. My favourite though was the MV Agusta with the custom paint job

Cough DockStrada Cough? On topic, there is no pre req for having done CSS prior to doing EC trackdays. I did my first track day at EC last year without having attended CSS; although I errrr, binned it on turn 2 in the 4th session. If you have done track riding before, it shouldn't be a problem. But doing CSS Level 1 prior to returning the track was invaluable to me from a confidence perspective. Knowing the lines that folks will generally be taking means you worry less about chopping someone elses line (for me anyway). As long as you are happy with passing and being passed (generally at light speed down the straight), you should be sweet.

Nailed it Craigo, you have to be comfortable passing and being passed. Lines are also true but everyone including the Warp Speed red grp take different lines to each other.
It is a good idea to have some track knowledge for your own safety as well as others.

Don't think Craigo is coming out to play this time, baby bump is too close I believe. Will talk to Vince in the next day or so, gotta give him some $$$ for the latest item on the bike!! I'll see if he can claim the same garage as last time for us as he is there both Friday/Saturday this week.
Will keep you posted. I will be riding out this time no room to trailer since the new "track wench" has arrived.
See you both Saturday.

That's okay, I think it will be an easy day after talking to the most recent friend who came down at turn 7.
