Haven't seen it myself so I'm not 100% certain it's true. But if it is true I will be make the beast with two backsING UPSET

Allegedly the 26km stretch from is now pretty much exclusively 40Kmh.  bang head  bang head  bang head

Heavy  bacon Police presence as well. I guess the NSW state government does need all the revenue it can get in these uncertain economic times. Bastards. Greedy Bastards.

One of the reasons I took to the track, for the cost of a track day you can speed as much as you like all day and that's all it will cost with out the risk of heavy fines and loss of licence.Best of all,if you F#*k up there ain't any trees or on coming cars to catch you  Shocked

I now when i do get a chance to ride on the road take it as a leasurly ride with a few mates and soak in the view  waytogo

That doesn't mean they  bacon Police  aren't greedy Bastards  Angry

I rode that way last Monday (18/04/09) and it was 60km.
Maybe they changed it just recently

If it is.....we may need to get "Claire the bogan slurry" to give the gov't a bit of a chk chk booooom

I tend not to go up the OPH that much, I don't really like the road. Too many tar stripes and crazy sports bikers IMHO

It doesn't effect you southies as much as me  Roll Eyes it's akin to making the whole of Maq pass and the whole of RNP 40km zones on the southside.

Track days are awesome, but sometimes I don't have all day and $200.  Sometime I just want to go up for a quick pie, a crap coffee  coffee and a little *sensible* blat along a nice piece of road.

40Kms an hour isn't just leisurely, it's ridiculous; pushies can ride past you at that speed.  And just because the speed limit is 40 doesn't mean that people aren't gonna screw up, even at that speed.

p.s. matty: they haven't changed the speed on the Tar Stripe bit, it's still 80 and dangerous there.

poor buggers we were deverstated when st marys pass was down graded to 80 kays because of rock falls as for track days they get very boring after a while and not covered by insurance

God is PUNISHING YOU!

If I can't have a bike, God is making everyone with one ride it at 40km/h.

Don't worry, it will be coming to a favourite bike road soon.

If you ride backwards 40km/h doesnt seem so slow.

I know, I'm full of useful advice.

On another forum I'm on (bikeme.tv) a guy mailed the RTA via their website form asking about it and got this response:

Quote
The RTA has not authorised any drop in the speed limit of the Pacific Highway to 40 km/hr. Gosford Council without RTA approval has implemented this for roadworks. I will be discussing this urgently with Council today to resolve the matter.
