It doesn't look like having Bayliss testing the bike has done a whole lot to help the general Ducati teams situation has it?

Bayliss was faster than the three backmarker Ducatis and hadn't ridden in a good while.
Stoner rode both the carbon fiber swingarm and the old aluminum swingarm with similar lap times this morning to help further develop the carbon fiber arm.
Pedrosa set the new top speed record at Mugello, 217mph... 349khp. I think only about 4kph short of the 990 overall speed record ( not at mugello ).
Lorenzo was impressive this morning and Rossi was laying down lots of consistant 1:50's.
Hayden is complaining about how the bike is unstable in cornering and just the general unstable nature of the bike to begin with. I'm writing him off I think. May he prove me wrong, but RIP Nicky.
Definately was worth waking up early to watch it. Good start to my day!

The Ducati GP 09 is a pile of SHITE, how can four of the five bikes be at the back of the field? this has got to be the biggest slap in the face to Ducati considering this is there home track. F#@k i think Hayden should get away from Ducati asap.Lucky Sete cant ride this weekend

Stoner is just an anomaly with the odd skill set that allows him to ride that motorcycle. The bike is crap though. I'm not buying into the whole "oh it will take some time to come to grips with the Ducati." I call bs. Seems to me that the riders can toss a leg over any of the other manufacturers machines and immediately be somewhat competitive. Maybe not front run, but immediately up to speed. Every bike has its nuances, but the Ducati simply has problems, not nuances. Yeah Hayden was a dirttracker and likes to slide around a bike. An unstable bike isn't much fun to slide around. So another round of applause for Stoner and his freak skills, but another rib poke at the junk underneath him. When a non developed privateer Kawasaki beats you week in and week out, you're not in good shape.
Will Hayden try to escape, magically find the skills, or rot in his contract for the next two years?

“This is a very different circuit to Le Mans and to be honest I was hoping that coming here, to the track where this bike was born, we would be on the pace,” confessed Nicky. “Unfortunately we're not and the truth is we're struggling again - it's pretty demoralising because every track we go to at the moment seems to cause us different kinds of problems. Here the worst thing is the bumpiness of the surface, which is unsettling a bike that can already be quite unstable. It is hard to change direction when the bike isn't planted and that's a big thing here.”

i honestly think they'll end up developing the bike for more universal use.
the fact that bayliss was >1s over stoner's time and he was trying to use settings that were, uh, not what stoner uses is a pretty good indication that, at some level, they've decided they
might
have an issue.

So would it stand to reason that Stoner's settings are completely out of whack to what any other rider would probably choose? Maybe that is part of the problem in itself. Its possible that his test data is of absolutely no use to any other rider, since they can't ride like him, and since they can't do that, it just makes a difficult motorcycle even worse for everyone else?

Gonna be a good race tomorrow.
What will Rossi do if Jorge plants his Lorenzo land flag.
My money is still on the Doctor.

Also, is it accidental that Edwards was making his best laps (for that part of quali.) while following Rossi?
Not accidental at all!
Edwards:
"I never plan on going out and following anybody but right at the start of the session Valentino (Rossi) was right in front of me and he had no problem with me following. So taking into account he's the Mugello expert I got in behind him to see if I could learn something and I picked up a couple of tricks. In a couple of places like the chicanes he hits the apex later at the first part to get a better drive out of the second part. I was more sweeping through them without getting a really good drive, so that helped me a bit."
