Philly's Best not so good (steak sandwich)

The best one Ive ever had was at the Dave & Busters in west Chicago. Every time I go thats all I gets and its always great.

Yeah, but if you're in Chicago why would you get a cheese steak when you can get an Italian Beef sandwich?

If you want a good cheese steak, don't go to Philly.  No civilized human being put cheez-whiz on a cheese steak.  South Jersey has much better cheese steaks, especially in the AC area.  It's the AC rolls and the provolone cheese.

Yeah, Jim's is where the locals go. A girl I used to date was from there. When we went there to visit her family, we ate there. I had never heard of putting spray cheese on a sandwich, but it was DAMN GOOD!

and the 'whiz is great on cheese steaks.  we have a place in milwaukee called Chubbies, they're pretty damn good.  i get steak, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, mozzarella, and cheese whiz.

You guys have inspired me to make the drive to Mr. B's today! They don't have Phillies but they do have an amazing hot neba roast beef sammich.

Hot slab of beef right on the slicer. Warm shaved goodnes directly deposited on a griddle toasted bun. With or without the cheese sauce. (with!  )

There's a place in eastern Mass that makes 'em this way too. Wish I could remember the name! In the restaurant hey have pics of people holding up their bumper sticker in all corners of the globe including Antarctica. Even one one the space shuttle. Best hot rb I've ever had in my entire life!

It's not just the cheese that makes philly cheesteaks legendary.  It's the roll that's soft in the middle and has some chew. 

Goomba's on route 309 (just below Hilltown).  The rolls have sesame seeds all the way around.  He uses REAL Sharp Provolone.  Makes their own homemade sopresetta.  roasted long hot peppers.  hoagies can be put in the oven (we call them grinders - and boy do they bring out the flavor of the italin meats & cheeses).  pardon the saliva drool....

they offer sandwiches like:
    da godfather : sopprasotta, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers & artichoke hearts
    9th streeter: Fried eggplant, Sopprasotta, Fresh mozzarella & roasted peppers
    chicken alla sinatra : sauteed chicken with pesto, sundried tomatoes, imported ham & four cheeses
    chicken supra : sauteed chicken, proscuitto, aged provolone, balsamic vinegar, lettuce, tomato, red onion & mayo
    chicken alla donna : grilled chicken, pepperoni, aged provolone, sun dried tomato & roasted peppers
   
Damn!  they're closed.  Def for tomorrow night's dinner.  They've got killer Spanish fries (peppers, onions cheese & seasonings).  MMMMMM!!!  I can feel my arteries clogging.

when i first moved up here i would hear people talking abotu cheese steaks and i was imagining a t-bone smothered in cheese.
17 yrs later i laugh at people that order a "philadelphia cheese steak sandwich"

ducprinter,howie, when you leave ECS to get to 211.... make a left (the gas station is on ur right)then go down about 1/3 mile and theres a chainstore on ur left. its a pizzera, they sell 22 inch pies. the slices could wrap around your 180 rear. (no lie and no exxageration the pie was larger than this dudes face) they said they had some banging sandwhiches and they didnt lie. I was also make the beast with two backsing starving too. my mom always said, hunger is the best sauce so who knows, im chinese so i eat jsut about anything. (cats dogs babies etc )
