Well my MFW footpegs (the 30mm ones) finally arrived from Twisted Throttle yesterday so I threw them on as soon as possible (which actually turned out to be the single most miserable and difficult modification I've made to the bike - getting those springs back in place is a nightmare, and scratched up the new footpeg mounts too). The good news is that they allow me to actually fit on the bike now  Grin (my knees now fit under the grooves in the tank) which is great. The bad news is that they significantly impact upon my access to the gear shift and rear brake. However, I'm going to adjust the levers on both sides to bring them outwards and lower them a little - which should eliminate this problem.

Some pics for your perusal. You can see in the 2nd shot in particular, just how difficult access to the rear brake is (though given my overuse of it, that may be a good thing).

Cornering clearance is definitely reduced, but not by a significant amount. The MFW racing footpegs are somewhat shorter than the standard ones, so the impact isn't as bad as I'd feared. And on the plus side, if you really need more clearance - it just takes an Allen Key and about 30 seconds to adjust the footpegs and get that clearance back. So that's not a huge issue, and in my opinion, well worth it for the benefits of being able to fit on the bike properly.

And it's Winter down here - washing is futile!  laughingdp I've also discovered the hard way that doing the tailchop in the lead up to winter was not a great idea  Embarrassed
