I've been needing a new one of these for my 97 M900.  Will this work?

If it is from a 620 - no.  They are a different shape.  Also... there's no coolant bottles for 900s or 620s - don't know what that sellers on about.  That's part of the crankcase breather set up...

Are you sure?  Its advertised as a coolant bottle. Mines cracked and leaking some sort of fluid.

Seriously, it wont fit.
Even if you try and use it as a crankcase breather.

Jokingly, make sure he throws in the prudpusperator valve, you'll need that too.
Without it, your muffler bearings will spin backwards, and we all know how badly that goes.

He's messing with you.  It's a blinker fluid reservoir.

And yes, we are sure it will not properly fit.

No I wasn't.  Seriously the dealer wants like $200 bucks for this thing and I would much rather get the one on Ebay.

OK.  Smiley

You may find one in the classifieds.

Or, shoot m9hundo a PM, he's likely got one.

Or you can ditch it and go with a K&N filter right on the breather.  You loose some hoses and that box.  You need to plug the hole in the airbox where the other end of that box leads too as part of the job.

TPO Parts sells a kit.

That box just catches vapor from the crankcase breather.  The leaking fluid only matters in that it means some un filtered air can get in though the breach and then into the case.  That fluid's probably just a mix of oil and condensed water vapor.

Hey, i ve heard of a lot of people doing this... installing a filter on top of the breather and completely ditching "the box" and hoses. What are the impacts of this mod. I mean the filer would have to replaced every so often, right? Also what happens to all of the material (i don't know... hmmm, oil, vapor, etc) that goes through the breather? Any other thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Well the filters from K&n have a one MILLION mile warranty... You do need to clean them on occasion, but unless something crappy happens you don't need to replace it.

A potential down side is that if you wheely a lot you might get some of the over flow coming out that filter.  But under normal circumstances only air, water vapor and nominal amount of oil vapor will come out.
