Hi all

Hey after talking to Goldfish and liaising with Betty I have organized a cake to be delivered to Julie in hospital from all the Aussie DMFers.

Was going to send flowers but Betty said she suffers from hay fever so the last thing we wanted was Jukie bursting her stitches with a sneeze.

So cake has been ordered for delivery through Interflora. As for cost I have it covered. But if you want to donate just PM and we will sort it out.

Big T

PS: Betty get a piece of cake into your good self as well..... Got to keep your strength up to handle that cage tigress till she gets back on the Monster...  popcorn

Mark that's great news very happy to know she is entertaining the boys in the Hospital.
Are we surprised by that! Hmmm no, but we are pleased it's happening.
Means she is on the mend for sure.

Big T, top job will buzz you to pitch in so $$$

Same for me Trev. In fact, I'm just going to PM you about an arbitrary amount of cash, and anything surplus to what you need can go toward the BBQ she wants us to throw upon her return. Hows that?

Uh-oh ... what's going on here?

Thanks again everybody. Another quick update:

A certain little package arrived today which was a huge surprise for her. The fruit cake was emblazoned with the words 'Greetings from Australia' along with the southern cross and federation star. The cake and card made her a little teary and she admitted to missing you guys heaps.

When I got to the hospital this morning she had already been up and about making a nuisance of herself (no surprises there Roll Eyes). Then came the good news ... she is being released (I me discharged) tomorrow - so the cake was timed to perfection. Bloody brilliant Trev, well done mate!

She has been sharing the cake around with the staff who have thankfully realised that she won't tolerate polite refusals. The cake was quite a novelty for them ... fruit cake with a super sweet icing ... but the initial apprehension quickly dissipated on tasting some. From what I have seen Julie has managed to soften up quite a few of the staff over the last few days ... their English has improved a lot more than our Italian cheeky

Now we just need to sort out where we go from here. The travel agent has tentatively booked flights for Friday week which will hopefully allow enough time for her to recover for the flight. The hotel I have been in has had free internet (we have stayed in 10 different places in Italy and this is the first to offer that) so it has been awesome, particularly under the circumstances. Internet access may be bit harder to come by from now on ... we may be headed back to a place where we saw an internet cafe advertising €1.50 for 5 mins (approx. $A36/hr at that rate Shocked).

Julie just wants to get home and see everybody, I reckon that barbie will become a high priority on her return. Thank you all once again for your support.

And glad the cake was a hit...... Your never quite sure how a "cake" will turn out in some foreign land....   popcorn

Give Jukie a big Big T hug and the Virgins send you big hugs as well........  Cool

Looking forward to having you both back home for the barbie......  waytogo

That's great news Mark. Glad that the Oz Monster crowd do a little to help the situation.

Now tell us, how can we help getting the pair of you to the factory tour and museum? I need to see pics of the pair of you next to the line of Bayliss and Corser SBK's and of course the famous Imola green frames etc etc etc...

Nothing little about it. Thanks again.

We will see how we go. The bike tour we were on officially ends tomorrow too ... we need to get in touch with those guys and see what we are going to do. I suspect it may depend on the insurance people, we were due to fly out on Friday ... Julie will be in no state to fly for 20+ hours though. So it depends on where we will be set up for the recovery.

As for the photos:
* I have one of Julie with a Bayliss edition 1098 at Ducati Pisa if that counts
* one of her working on a 999s before we started (she couldn't stop herself from getting her hands dirty)
* green frames, meh, been on a few rides with one of them back home (and yes it is a real one)

 Cool.

All I know is that you guys will LOVE the visit to the factory. Broni is no Ducatisti (just married to one!) but after visiting the Vespa factory in Pontadera and the Duc factory in Bologna, she hadto relunctantly concede that the Ducati had it all over her beloved Vespa in terms of showing the love to their fans and showing off their history - the museum is done _very_ well...

I know I've talked it up to death, and I know that if you have half a chance you'll be there, so I'll let it go now  waytogo
