seriously, could you just take a crank and parts from an S2R1k?

The big-motored cranks won't fit into a small case engine (IIRC). 

Here's what I relate to:

I'm at like 400% of initial purchase price and the bike is in pieces YET AGAIN!  I'm so F'd.  Oh well! drink

nah, I'll just cremated and have my ashes stuffed into the trellis frame. and then sell myself on ebay

I barely got room for the one. unless I park a bike inside my apt.

in which case, said 'parked in apt.' bike would be very, very specific. and a long term project type bike, at that.

I like my wet clutch bike. It keeps me from having to explain to all of the people that don't know about dry clutches that it's not a rod knocking and there's nothing wrong with the motor and that it's all supposed to do that.
