Popeye the Sailor

Welp, last week, a board member (who will go unnamed unless they wish to chime in) contacted me about the S4R. I was offered the asking price $4,500, and I took it.

The wee bike was good to me. It being about the only thing I've ever owned in my life that was new. It saw the country from Massachusetts to California, a trip or two up and down all of Cali, up to Nevada, and it visited Ducati in the Rockies with a friend.

I went on my first date with my wife on that bike.

Unfortunately, due to various back and neck problems, I could no longer comfortably ride it. Which is a shame-I loved racking up the miles and riding every single day. It was my only form of transportation for some time, and I'll miss it.

Leaving it parked wasn't doing it justice, and there are better options than to just let the bike just get older, without being ridden. Last night I dropped it off with the new owners friend, who should deliver it sometime late this week. I hope he enjoys is as much as I did.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

if I had a vagina...I'd never leave the house

Sounds like someone got a good deal.  Glad the bike found a new home and will get some exercise.

You looking for a ride more conducive to your physical limitations, or are you off bikes for the forseable future?

I hope it's the first part.

The first part. I ain't exceptionally tall, however, my arms and legs are pretty dang long. I plain old don't fit on a monster-my legs don't fit in the cut outs, my arms are very bent to be on the bars-people who've ridden with me have commented on it.

I suspect it came to be such an issue due to the sheer volume of time spent on the bike. I put about 20K on it in the first year.

Got Duc

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

Hey, you didn't mention that before!  That explains the broken and repaired rear turn signal, and the three foil wrappers that I found jammed under the seat.

[laugh]

I'll take good care of her.  Your bike, I mean.

Pedro-bot

Damn. I'm surprised it took that long to sell at that price. Shame really.

Here's to ya new owner.  [beer]

You only wanted $4500 for it????

Dang.  :P

Well, I was hoping for 20K, but had it up for $6500, no offers (not even insulting ones), same for $5500. Market sucks, but if I waited, I can't see getting much more.

Not that it matters-current bike I like is $300  :P

Sorry to hear you had to let your bike go - glad to hear it has gone to a good home.

On the upside, I hear the Streetfighter has much better ergonomics. [thumbsup]
