So... I have not wrote a lot on here as I have been in Iraq for a while.  I am 12 months into a 14 month tour. I had sold my S2R 800 before I left and just today bout a M1100 for me and a 848 for the wife.  We will be back in the area soon and look forward to some rides.

On of our first rides though we would like to do a Killeen to the Gulf ride with little highway riding. I was barely at Ft. Hood before I left so does anyone know a good route from there and a good place to spend a week?

Thanks for any help and hope to hear from you all soon

welcome back, if you've been off the bike for a year, you might want to slowly ease into it before jumping on the highway.........ride safe

Just like riding a bike.  Ring them out and they'll be fine!  And, if ever in trouble, give it more gas.  Grin

Have a safe trip home.

Well we will wait a week or two before anything serious and I ALWAYS avoid the highways.  Just wondering if anyone knew and nice routes from the Killeen/Austin area down to South Padre.

It will be great when I finally get home. 56 days, not that I am counting or anything.

Just like riding a bike.

Exactly. It only hurts when you fall off or run into stuff.  waytogo
