Author Topic: It's definitely deer season on the Crest -- be careful  (Read 1911 times)

Decided to take a really early ride up to watch the sun rise through the clouds this morning.  Left the house about 6:30.  Saw 7 deer on the way up and 5 on the way down, all by the road.  I saw them all in plenty of time, and slowed to a crawl while passing just in case one decided to bolt across the road but fortunately they all ran into the woods.

I saw one of them while coming out of downhill hairpin and it startled me a fair bit so I took the rest of the way down pretty easy.

If you are riding at dawn or dusk on the Crest, ESPECIALLY past the ski area all the way to the top, be very vigilant.  Can't wait until hunting season...

A white BMW was stopping cagers outside of Cedarcrest before you get on the freeway...
He was writing tickets nonstop...guess people aren't expecting a  Police on a bike in that area
