No clue where you are, but if you've got a speed shop you trust, doing the heads and intakes, combined with some different carbs might do a good bump for you. Those MBP heads are nice, but may be cost prohibitive.
Better carbs and a better breathing system can do a lot.
Also, if you're fidding, you might look at chaging your gearing. Dropping a tooth up front, or adding 2-4 in the rear can have a big impact in the feel of the bike, for a lot lower cost than big engine work.
I'm sure chris at ca-cycleworks could hook you up with a big bore kit, or gather the correct parts. Perhaps even big bore high comp. Just remeber the bigger the bore and the higher the comp, the more heat. So the more you go, the more cooling you'll need. Do enough and you're looking at a larger, or 2nd oil cooler. There was a fella in the UK with a tooled up 966 with high comp pistons. He rand 2 oil coolers and could not run the bike in the summer for fear of the heat.
