undertail exhaust or maybe swingarm side exhaust?
«
on:

Seeing as i was the only one with slip ons at the weekend ride i am looking into options for a full exhaust system.
Does anyone seen a Monster fitted with a 999 style exhaust where it exits under the tail without using the big carbon mufflers?
I would love a clean undertail exhaust but if that's not possible, would there be any issue with me putting the exhaust on the swingarm side of the bike?

Have not seen it done before, so I guess it would be a little expensive as it would be a custom job.
Betty and Jukie have both had custom jobs done at a place up the coast near them.
As to having it mount off the swing arm, not in my mind as the swing arm is a moving part.
I'm no engineer but I can't how it could be possible.
Anyone else.

I imagine that would be Foran exhausts in Gosford. He did the exhaust for my MV, sounded unreal!
I didn't mean to mount it on the swingarm, i just ment to have the pipes on the swingarm side of the bike. It would still mount on the rear subframe, just the left side as opposed to the right side.

What about Boom Tubes?
I know they are not undertail, they are more underbike.

Sorry didn't get that SG.
Do understand now, but as Super says my money would be going to boom tubes.
If the S4Rs had pipe(s) I didn't like they would have been changed for Boom Tubes asap.

How much do the boom tubes cost? Could i use it with the ECU from the slip ons or would i need a power commander?

I am also checking out the Termi shorty exhaust. I believe it's supposed to run on the stock ECU, as i have the slipon, would it run ok with that ECU or do i have to go back to stock ECU?

If you do have your mind set on a custom undertail jobby, take a look at this thread for inspiration.. it is a 696 though with undertail..
http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=11215.0
Not sure how applicable it is for a classic monster though..
Either way, any mod is a good mod..
