Contacted Techspec about getting some tank pads made for my 696: ] www.techspec-usa.com.  Found out they were local and since they don't have a storefront, we rode out to meet up with a representative.  Travis from TechSpec met us at a local bar and restaurant.  Got the pads and some free samples.  Very cool guy, knowledgeable, personal- would definitely do business with them again.  Here's some pics with the pads installed.  Very well made- will post after I have ridden with them for a while.

Same ones... They come in a few different finishes... I believe "high fusion" is the one pictured.... They hold up great, not a single issue with them... and yes, the are removable, held on by adhesive

Thank you sir... Bike is gonna look a bit different here in a week or so.. Clipons, new top triple, and underseat exhaust from Ryanracer.... It's gonna look pretty awesome. The gauge unit is going to be much lower, pretty much down between the top triple and headlight.... it's not going to look like any 696 out there...

A quick pic of before and after....

AFTER(not complete yet)

Nice work  waytogo

The speedy top triple begs to have the speedo lowered and with your round headlight it works especially well. Any clearance issues with the bars contacting the tank panels when ther steering is at full lock?

I am tall and feel pretty cramped on my 696. I have been considering clip ons to add more reach, what do you think? do you feel more leaned forward than stock now?

I have tech spec pads on my 01 M750 and love them. I get much better grip to the tank thanks to them!  waytogo Glad to see they are equally as cool as their products are.
