I haven't seen the new trek flick, but I'd assume rather than primitive rockets, they would employ a ribbon/space elevator to get vessels out of earth's gravitational pull.

(or build them IN SPACE, which makes more sense)

It's not really that clever at all.  Sorry to disappoint, but I couldn't think of anything that funny at the time.  It's rather easy to figure out what it does say thou.

Edit-I think technically it should be in one long line but that looked funny so I made it into more of a paragraph.
