I am in the middle of a project to clean up the front end of my bike. This is going to include removal and replacement of the gauges and removal of the u bracket assembly that secures the headlight in order to install fork mounts for the light. I think that this will much improve the look of the front end. With that said, does anybody have any good source for the brackets needed to mount the headlight to the forks? They need to be 50mm, and preferably black, or easily painted black. Thanks for any help provided.

I saw this at motowheels the other day

maybe they can get the clamps for you?  I've never seen anything else similar, but admittedly my experience is limited.

That part from xpo looks pretty cool. Perhaps that will fit the bill. Work on the front end is scheduled to begin later this week when the gauge arrives (not yet officially released). Photos of installation to follow.

This is EXACTLY what I want to do. Please finish your mod asap, so I can copy everything you do  Grin

Actually, good luck with the mod - I look forward to seeing the results.  chug

Those mounts from xpostreetfighter look like Aztec 8 mounts. I would strongly suggest NOT TO GET THEM!! THEY SUCK!
#1. They're made of plastic and break easily.
#2. They only use one mounting point to the fork, therefore the headlights tend to swivel down while you're riding.

I know as I had these on my SV. And quickly got rid of them!!

Any further suggestions then from anybody who has had success with this? I don't want to bother with adjusting the headlight ever time I ride. I am going to do an HID conversion while I am in there and really don't want to blind anybody.

can use these clamps and fab your own bracket.
I ended up getting these which worked, but then changed my headlight/gauges on my SV and went in another direction.
