Not a modified Monster, but a modified Ducati 750SS....

I finished one of the four Ducati SuperSports in my garage (two 800SS's and a 1000SS left to go!) by bolting up most of the oem Ducati 1000SS parts off my friend Steve Keener's old SuperSport 1000SS racebike onto my Craigslist orphan 2000 750SS i.e. :
Swingarm, Marchesini 5-spoke wheels, front forks, CFM rearsets, DucPond race rear brake rotor, Ohlins shock, CTR front suspension set-up, plus Sargent seat, modified oem muffler hangars with the passenger pegs and peg bosses removed, polished smooth, EBC full floating rotors, and EBC HH brake pads.
I now have a quiet, civilized, s.l.o.w. street bike with awesome suspension and brakes. Can't wait to play with it at Summit Point after I get the 1000SS track bike put together.
And - I think - it's a beauty!

(My S4Rs and the stock, original version of the 750SS are in other sets in the same flickr folder...)

am I going to kick myself for not buying this one too? You have a habit of doing that to me.
It's bad enough seeing your cool shit at Donnie's.

Heh. Thanks. I built this one for myself; no one else I know is crazy enough to put that much high end stuff on a basically
stock 750SS; especially one that is almost ten years old!
So, you saw the 1000SS up there, huh? That is going to be one bad-ass trackbike when Donnie and I are through with it!

If you have a 696 (per your signature), I would advise you to get at least an 800SS; the 750 motor with its old-school cylinder head design is really slow compared to the 695/696. Almost feels like riding through molasses.
My Moto_ST 800SS with race exhaust, Ducati performance ECU, and K&N air filter, made 72.25 rwhp. My old 1992 750SS made 57 rwhp dead stock; with high compression pistons, ported and polished heads, 3-angle valve job, and 41mm CR flatslides set up for CCS middleweight sportsman racing, it made 74 rwhp.
Seat of the pants, the stock 2003 Ducati 620 Sport that I owned (briefly, I sure wish I had it back today!) a couple of years ago felt like it had more horsepower than my stock 1992 750SS had and more than this stock 2000 750SS has.
Unless you have a thing for slow bikes with great handling and great brakes, that is.....
