I got a 97 M750 and was wanting to cut the exhaust and make it like the MotoGP style exhaust.  Will I have to do anything to my engine after it's done.  Basically cut  it down, and have pipes only.

your fuelling may end up a bit wonky... which would then lead to carb work.

or something like that.

+1 let the fueiling nightmares begin. You'll have to run a lot richer to conpensate for the reduced backpressure.

Not on the Carby bikes. You should be fine honestly, may want to richen the mixture a little bit to get best performance out of it, but especially if you haven't cut the airbox, you can run your 750 without pipes on it at all and be fine.

If you leave the crossover alone you should be fine.

I should clarify that I don't mean with out headers at all, just without any exhaust cans...

Get some ear plugs! Each bike is different, you may or may not have to rejet. I put on slips ons (my bikes injected) and was amazed how far I had to ramp up the mapping. Some bikes the owners claim they dont need any adjustments with a full system. The only way is to try it out, see how it feels.
