Race 1 - ben leads start to finish, biaggi put up a great fight from 2nd then nearly ran out of gas in the last split of the last lap.  shook the bike, got enough fuel pushed back to finish in 2nd ahead of nori.  Ben and Max were lapping under bayliss' '08 lap record for almost the entire race.  wow.

Race 2 - ben takes the double by about 6 seconds.  crushed 'em.   bow down

ton of crashes early on, maybe 6-7 riders.  haga went down bad and was transported to the medical center -- highside and then the bike was on top of him for a very uncomfortable amount of time.  looks like he fractured a vertebra  Sad

http://www.crash.net/world+superbikes/news/149095/1/noriyuki_haga_suffers_fractured_vertebra.html

biaggi and rea both lowsided but continued.  hacking crashed out as well.

great battle between haslam, fabrizio, and byrne.  hopper sat out race 2, said he barely finished race 1 due to the pain.

haga now leads the championship by only 14 points and looks doubtful for Brno....

Whether Haga races or not, I think Spies is moving on history.  I would doubt Haga's fitness good enough to hold Spies off the rest of the season regardless.  Even full fitness, Haga has his hands full.

I hate seeing crashes...

particularly when the bike and rider get all tangled up.

minor update, surgery on the wrist:  http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2009/Jun/090629a.htm

Noriyuki should be able to return home to Italy in the next two days and the Ducati Xerox Team does not currently exclude the possibility of Noriyuki's return to the track in time for the next round in the Czech Republic, on the 26th July at Brno.
