Just an idea, what about an 848 motor? They are 130+hp and there is actually one on ebay for about 2K

The testastretta (narrowhead) 998 S4Rs motor has completely different cylinderhead dimensions than those of the desmoquattro 916/996 engine family.  That's why the S4Rs has a completely different airbox and fuel tank than that of the orginal S4 and S4R Monsters.

Oh, ok, didnt realize there was that much difference externally.

How much money do you have for this...

Money  = no object.. then I would...

999R Engine
Newer throttle bodies
Nemesis ECU
Custom exhaust
Port and polished heads, and long with smoothing as much as feasible the intake and exhaust to head transitions.
Chopped, balanced and polished crank
Higher comp pistons (if available)
Timing and dyno work
Light fly wheel
Light clutch assy

I know I'm missing something... But that should put a big dent in the bank...

wish money WAS no object.. if it was i'd just buy a D16RR

You should trade up to an S4RS.  The desmoquattro mill is limited by it's valve size.  The RS has 40mm intake valves and kit cams as delivered.  130 hp at the wheel for a kitted S4RS.  It's just tough to compete with the factory- those guys know what they're doing.

what he said.  testastretta will give the power much cheaper than a desomquattro will, or more power for the same mods.  they feel quite a lot stronger at higher revs too.

if you really need more make monster bodywork fit the streetfighter.  and then fit an 1198 motor to it.
