i saw them in 1977 was about 6' from Simmons 

amazing show ..lots o blood and freaking loud

I saw them on the HOT IN THE SHADE tour. It was in a huge basketball arena and the sound sucked terribly. It was still Kiss though, so I was still pretty excited.
