Hi OZMonsters , just returned from a surf trip with my son to Plunkung national park in east Java
on returning to Bali for our flight home I was really surprised to not only see  just one Monster but
three in one day Shocked
I have been traveling to Indo to ride their great waves for close to 30 years and never seen anything more exciting than a 250 cc with 99.9 % of all two wheel transport being scooters so I must of looked pretty dumb jumping up and down on spotting some tropical Italians , one being a SR 1K with all the bling only wish I had my camera with me to show how good the big one looked next to the scooters  waytogo

So where else have you seen a a Monster in an out of the way destination?

Not so much out the way, but unussual....
The hangar/loading area of the Auckland International airport, on my way to Sth.Amr. was a black old M750 (i think) that looked pretty much stock. It was on its stand as there were moving some things about parked to one side.
Cool, not something you see every day, spesh at a foreign airport. - Chris

I find that very difficult to believe!

I saw (and photographed) well over 50 of them parked on the street in Rome, Florence, Bologna and surrounds... 3 or 4 years ago..

Sure they were well outnumbered by scoots, but they were there! Speaking of, anyone who's been to Rome and hung out on the street will know what I'm talking about - the "buzz" you hear when the lights change and the 100's of scooters WOT after all lane splitting to the front of the traffic. Awesome sight and sound!

Ahhh Italy ... land of the Maxi-Jap scooter.

My observations:
. Harleys clearly out-number Ducatis ... extremely disappointing (and yes I am serious)
. The Monster is the most common Ducati (no surprise) and the Monster of choice is a Dark 600 series - difficult to find anything else
. Maxi-Jap scooters rule the road
. 'Old school' scoots are dying out - saw quite a few old Vespas but only one Lammie from memory
. Quite a few Vespa Apes still working the narrow, cobblestone streets
. Also still quite a few Fiat Bambinos running around but they are far outweighed by the New 500 which seems very trendy

But back on topic ... it would seem that the dozens of Monsters we saw in Italy would be unusual Undecided (and it is an out of the way destination for us)

Well I did see one gorgeous girl wherever I went, does that count?

Memorable quote from our guide on the trip to the beach ... "Oh look its the three little bears, Tubby, Chubby and Fatso"
