For the record, only the tank and pipes are chrome. The rest is just aluminum (and a lot of polishing compound)

Damn, that reminds me. I really need to wash my bike  Grin

What I don't understand is why when I see a Harley with chomed out gas tank(s) I think it looks like crap, yet the chromed tanks on Monsters and vintage Brit bikes look just fine.

I always loved this Monster.  I think it is stainless steel.  It may not be chrome, but it's still shiny and silver.
