Keeping your monster cool on a hot day

With the temp rising now that summer has finally hit us is there any way I can upgrade the cooling on my air cooled monster? I have a S2R1K and my oil temps are starting to get very high when I ride. Are there larger oil coolers I can buy or maybe even a fan to mount behind the stock cooler?

motowheels sells a larger oil cooler.  I've also seen where folks added a 2nd identical cooler

As long as you continue to use the synthetic oil, I hear the s2r1k is good to go up to 300F.  I've seen it hit 250 260 and it runs fine, just dont touch it

Haha ill try to keep from touching her when she is hot . Today she reached 263 (first time taking her out since I changed the oil). I know its going to get at least 10 degrees hotter here in NM before fall comes around. I like the oil cooler on motowheels except for the $$$. Any other less expensive options before I spend all that cash?

A little off topic, but I am thinking there must be something wrong with all your bikes!

I have never seen my SS1000 go over 220.  I would think the full full fairing would hold in more heat.

On a hot day, my S2R 800 runs @ 210-215.

i'm in Florida and my S2R1K was always running hot until I installed the FULL TERMI SYSTEM. Yeah, it sux to have to pay so much for it, but it's a totally different bike AND it runs MUCH cooler. Probly 20-30 degrees better!

Whoops. Here comes oil change #2 so far this season.

Too late. I added the coolant and after a few miles my bike imploded lol. I figured it was a joke but I am open to any ideas to keep her running cooler. I like the cooler from motowheels but its expensive (aren't car radiators like way bigger and cheaper?  ) and since it is back ordered I dont want to have to wait the whole summer to get it.

The only time I've had a problem with my S2R running REALLY hot was a ridiculously hot day last summer when I was stuck in traffic in a tunnel...she got up to 320 before I managed to get out of there and get moving again. Needless to say, I decided to take her in for an oil change the following weekend.

The moral of the story? Stay the hell away from tunnels at rush hour when it's hot out

Your bike my be running too lean.  I also installed a full termi system and my bike runs cooler.  Around the 230 area tops.

Nope... head out to Vegas and come sit on the 215 with me.  My bike regularly hits 250 but my all time high was in Idaho at Craters of the Moon park.  They were doing major construction and the highway was literally a dirt road.  It was 100 degrees out and we had to drive about 15mph over 10 miles.  My bike got to 290 degrees before I pulled over to let it cool down.  Once you start nearing 300 degrees I believe you are in danger of melting wires or other such unpleasantries.
