Why not Lowe's? We sell CH and the most expensive one is $799.   Then again I live in CA not NY.

How is that brand?

or this one?

and here is a competing IR one in what i assume two stage since it has a relatively high PSI rating.

You want two stage. It's way more better.

got it. Im just going to take your word for it this time! $1100 is within my budget and IR seems to be a reputible brand. and the specs are excellent.. and best of all free make the beast with two backsING SHIPPING! (saves me $300 bucks!)

If I were buying a compressor from  your list, for another $100 I would get the Quincy.  IMHO Quincy is just plain better than I-R and if you compare the spec's they sure list a lot more information than I-R.   Maybe I-R doesn't list more specifications because they don't have as much to brag about.  IMHO I-R has cheapened up some of their products to try and be price competitive.  I have an old I-R Type 30 myself but I'm not sure the new ones are as good.  Just sayin' and don't mean to muddy the water after you seem to have already made a decision.  If you get the I-R I'm sure it will be fine.

Edit: Another thing I don't like about I-R is that the first single stage compressor on your list shows 11.5 HP on the specification page.  That is based on the locked rotor current and is pure BS and unethical to boot. At least Northern shows it as 5 HP on their catalog page.

...and there is no way a single stage pump puts out 18 cfm at any usable pressure. ;)

well that one quincy compressor for 1299 seems to be stackd with goodies.

if i get the maintence kit the warranty extends to 5 years limited. they dont sell the maintence kit though id have to order it from quincy directly. but i assume it is just motor and an airfilter?

stats look good to 175psi @15cfm, none of the air tools i have or will get in the future look like they need more than 90psi, this has to push out at least 20cfm at 90psi.

langanobob, can you double check to make sure i got everything good and im not just seeing double?
singel PHASE, two STAGE, 230volt 175psi 15cfm, FREE SHIPPING.

DP has probably forgotten more about compressors than I'll ever know so I hope he will chime in.  But, if I were in the market for a new compressor I'd be very inclined to pick the Quincy.  Never heard anything bad about them and can't say that for I-R.

But it is up to you to make  your own decision (had to say that so you can't come after me if the Quincy turns out to be a POS  [cheeky])

I own a Quincy.

It's probably older than He Man and still going strong.

Good choice.
